there was pollution everywhere in the water - incredible views but impossible to swim (unless we hired a boat), very isolated

Great view, quiet with friendly staff and excellent food deliveries

Quiet and well located right by the sea. Only a night watchman after 4pm but staff very helpful on the phone, organising food delivery for dinner (no cafes for miles) and a guide for a nature walk in the morning. All delightfully rural and teeming with birdlife, we saw many things including several breeds of kingfisher and the rare white Bali mynah.

Great spot to be in the park, BUT...

    1. ... there was loud music from somewhere very near, and that's not what I appreciate when sleeping in a national park 2. ... the smell and fumes from insect repellant was so strong I had to sleep with the open window and door 3. ... local support from the host was nihil (I speak Indonesian, which helped in getting a few needed details, but those who tend to the pearling center are not there to support guests)

    1. it was beautiful to be inside the national, but... 2. clean, but... 3. Local staff was super nice, but... 4. Dewi put me in touch with the best guide ever, at very short notice. No "buts" here, Putu "Patu" was just exceptional!

Beautiful place just in front of the sea near the natural reserve. They offer snorkeling and diving tours by boat on the nearby reef. Big clean beds. Higly raccomended for the position and the atmosphere. The ground of the room wasn't very clean, so we noticed to the owner that immediatly repared to It cleaning up everything. You will need a scooter for explore the beautiful park nearby.

Location not near good swimming, no good restaurant options nearby, very remote area.

Very quiet, bring a book! Beautiful area if you have transport, but not much on property itself.

Relaxing place with quiet sea view and nice people

On the first night the light outside the room kept me awake. I worked out the Indonesian to ask Wayan to turn it off on the second night. There was a kettle in the rooms but no cups. No tea or coffee provided. I had my own coffee but only one cup. As we arrived on the Sunday we could not find anyone to ask for one. This was fixed as soon as Wayan arrived on Monday morning. The water went off on Tuesday morning. It was fixed after three hours and Dewi sent us a IDR 300,000 refund on our room fees for the inconvenience. This was much appreciated. Very sorry that we did not have longer to stay to go on some of the trips on offer.

A lovely quiet small place with a beautiful view of the sea and lots of jukung fishing boats. A beautiful striated heron came and stood at the edge of the water close to us. Great Indonesian food was available to be delivered using Whatsapp messaging to a nearby restaurant. On the second day that restaurant was closed for a ceremony but they found us another place. Wayan who looked after the place helped us to ring the other place. Disthi is a place that farms baby pearl shells that are taken somewhere else to be seeded to produce pearls when they reach the right size. It was interesting to see the people leaving and coming back from the shell places. It is within walking distance of the place where the endangered Bali starlings are released. The internet seemed good. We did not go on the snorkelling trips but Wayan seemed very knowledgeable and I sure it would have been good. We organised for him to drive us into Gilimanuk in the evening to eat wonderful Ikan Bakar (grilled fish) and crabs that we chose and paid for by the kilo. It was really great to have Wayan as he was so helpful. My friend who travelled with me is a very fit walker and he enjoyed walks to look at birds in both directions from the guesthouse. I am not very mobile and loved the quietness by the water looking at and drawing the boats. There were no outdoor chairs and tables but we asked and were given chairs that we were able to move to follow the shade or to look at the lights on the boats at night. There is a good dining table inside the building but no lightweight table of the right height to move around to sit at to write or draw outside. Wayan kindly brought a large stand out for me but it was a bit high. If there was a moveable outdoor table of the right height it would be a lovely quiet place to spend time writing, drawing and looking at the sea and boats.
