Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing - For this price, there is nothing to complain about;) Great value! Thank you
Loved this place, such a welcoming family and super friendly (especially their adorable puppy ‘Kimi’ :) They are so kind and accommodating without being intrusive at all. The rooms upstairs have lovely outdoor spaces overlooking the rooftops and their immaculate gardens. They really do take great care of the place and their guests. The rooms are clean, they offer a simple yet ample breakfast and their homestay is delightful. The added bonus is a small pool big enough to cool off in on the hot days. The location is also just far away enough from the Main Street to be quieter, but not too far away! There’s also a great laundry service just next door, plenty of little eateries (I highly recommend ‘Pumpkin & Beetroot’ just a minute’s walk away), and the hustle and bustle of central Ubud is within a short walk. I highly recommend this place, I stayed for 15 days, but would have stayed longer if I could!

GermanyWhile the service was polite, I personally missed that deeper, heartwarming connection I’ve experienced in other homestays.
I stayed here for five nights and felt overall very comfortable. The homestay is set within a family home, surrounded by a beautiful garden with lush plants and a koi pond, very well-maintained and calming. There’s also a small pool. It’s not in perfect condition but totally fine for cooling off, especially for the price you’re paying. Breakfast is served daily - very simple, typical Bali homestay-style, but absolutely okay. The hosts are kind and attentive. The rooms are quite small and fairly dark, especially the bathroom area with little natural light. Everything is kept very basic, but it was clean and functional. I had no ants or cockroaches in the room, which is a big plus in Ubud! They even cleaned my room and changed towels twice during my five-day stay, which I really appreciated. For a budget-friendly place, this homestay offers solid value.

AustraliaI would have loved the air conditioning. Unfortunately it was not in my room. there was just a fan in the center of the ceiling. I suppose there's other room available in the structure with A/C.
I liked the private room on the second floor. The bed is very big and comfortable. The room is fully furnished and there is even a small fridge. There is a pool but in this time I did not use it.

AustraliaThe AC was doing a good job but dripping. The owner promptly offered us to move to another room but we decided to stay in the same bungalow. It didn't bother us.
The Bali classic style bungalow is on the ground floor but quite private. There's a mini bar for us to store foodstuffs in. The swimming is tucked away in one corner and is lovely. Breakfast was nice. The location is walking distance to many restaurants, cafes and shops. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.

South KoreaI only stayed here for one night and I wish I could have stayed longer! This used to be (and I believe it still is) a family house. The homestay is currently run by the house owner's son's couple, who are very nice and helpful. A really authentic, well-managed, clean and friendly place. Best place I've stayed in Ubud in this budget. Highly recommended!!

United KingdomThe bathroom was a little awkward with no easy place to put shampoos etc except on the toilet seat or the floor. The room had some ants in it but they didn’t really bother us. The clothes cupboard unfortunately smelt of damp and so we didn’t use it, but as we were only staying 3 nights it was not a big problem.
The Homestay was very near to the centre of Ubud and so it was fine to walk to central areas. (About 20 minute slow walk to Ubud palace) We we’re able to hire a bike easily with help from the hosts meaning we could explore further outside of Ubud centre. The room was a good size with good air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was simple but clean. The breakfast was simple but very good and delivered to the room. The pool was small but a lovely way to chill in the afternoon after a busy morning. The staff/family were so lovely and helpful. They drove us to our next accommodation which was a long way away near Munduk, but we didn’t realise how difficult the last part of the drive would be and our host was so patient and calm about this, getting us there safely.

ItalyAll good
The location was perfect to experience Ubud (10 min walk to main streets and shops) without being in the chaos of tourists and traffic. And you have a nice and clean pool to recover from hectic daily trips. The homestay is traditional balinese style, there is also an interesting family temple (not allowed to get in but nice to witness) and the family is great, welcoming and helpful with any information and service (taxi service, tickets etc). Initially I had to stay only 6 days and I kept postponing departure because it was perfect setting and very affordable. Breakfast has different options (and you can also ask for a traditional plate at lunch or dinner at a minimal extra cost) and cleaning is asked every day (In order to be sustainable to me every 3 days is more than fine)

AustraliaWe stayed as a family of four. The family and staff were helpful and lovely, and banana pancakes for breakfast were great! We would stay again in Ubud. The rooms are simple and comfortable, gardens are beautiful and it is a little sanctuary, just a short stroll to the hustle and bustle of Ubud.

United StatesNothing .. only that I couldn’t stay longer and I will be back.
I cannot say enough positive things about my stay here at Dewa Antara. Kadek and his family made me feel so welcome and the rooms and Garden are always impeccably clean. I’ve been to Ubud many times and love the location, the pool, the delicious breakfast every morning and they helped me when I needed to book any transport or had questions. If you want a comfortable and authentic stay in Ubud, I highly recommend. 10/10
