Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt feels weird to be writing about “what I didn’t like” when in reality this section for me is why I didn’t score it 10/10 for everything. Some warm water in the showers would have been nice, especially after the Rinjani Hike but I felt refreshed after a cold shower. Location wasn’t what I would have looked for in my predicament but in the end it was perfect for a peaceful rest and my continued journey was facilitated by the helpful staff!
The De Chicktoria Hostel was a delightful solution to my missing the last ferry to Gili T. It was a little hard to find as it’s set back from the main road with only a small sign to signal the path to the property. But as you walk down the path between beautiful rice paddies you discover a quaint hostel set amongst a small holding of home grown fruit trees, chicken coop and fish pond. We were greeted warmly and shown to our rooms before dinner. The rooms had recently been renovated and were clean, practical and chic! The mattress was super comfortable which made my stay amazing as I’d just come from climbing Mount Rinjani! The food at the property was delicious and excellent value which was good to find as there aren’t many/ if any options within walking distance. After a delicious breakfast, Herri organised a taksi to take me to the harbour and onto Gili T. During my stay I felt extremely welcome and fortunate to have stumbled across this little piece of paradise and get to know the staff and hear their stories and appreciate the beautiful island of Lombok and its wonderful people. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, authentic encounters with wonderful locals and value for money!

CanadaThere is nothing I did not like, however I think it's important to know that this accommodation is rustic and natural and perhaps not accessible for someone with mobility difficulties. There is a narrow lane way to access the property. No AC or hot water but you really don't miss either one.
This hostel is a gem. It is an experience to just chill in the hammocks soaking in the mountain and rice field views, listening to the birds and the rain. Harry and Augusto were friendly, laid back and happy to share their stories. Augusto made me delicious fried chicken noodles for dinner and banana pancake breakfast with Lombok coffee. I enjoyed watching all the chickens and the cats. The property is clearly a labour of love by people who care about their visitors and nature and it shows. I recommend a visit.

FranceI have no conplaints. But before booking you have to know, it is not close to an Hotel Standart yet, the place is for basics need and living in community.
My stay with Heri was perfect. His wife and him have a very welcoming and heartful hospitality. He has built all the accommodations by himself on his lands. He has a garden, grow his own vegetables, he also has chickens and a small cute river for fishes. He takes care of plastic the best way he can and try to go for a more automnous way of living. It is not luxury yet but I am pretty sure it will become better in time since Heri is working on accommodations more and more when money is coming. Rooms are pretty basics but are pretty. The windows gives directly on the nets balcony and that's really lovely. Services is perfect. Hery and his wife we make their best to help you. If you need transportation or information, they help you. Food was also wonderful, cooked by his lovely wife. Location is close to Lombok's main Harbour - 10min drive and there are few village close by. I didn't have the chance to visit since we spent much of our time playing chess and sharing our views with Heri. If you like to meet local people to understand better their cultur and daily life. I strongly recommend to stop by Heri's hostel - De Chicktoria Hostel. I believe this hostel is a perfect place to organise your plans, meet backpackers from all over the world and share a better way of living together 🌎 Thank you again Heri, See you soon

BelgiumIt's a little hard to find. I've added a picture on google maps to show the alley you need to take. (no car! only scooter). Like many places on Lombok, there's not hot water for showering, which is fine.
Homestay meets hostel! The place is run by family and friends, and they're all wonderfull! Truth be told the description is not entirely up to date, but the current reality is actually better! Rooms are per 2 person, and comfy! The common area exist out of 1 big table where everyone meets each other, and passes a lovely time. They offer great food and drinks as well, at reasonable prices. There are chickens (in coops) and a few lovely cats! They rent out scooters at fair prices! Thank you for the lovely stay! Great for unwinding.

AustraliaA lovely little hostel just 3km away from Bangsal port. I stayed for 2 nights before Rinjani. The hostel is super aesthetic and really feels like you’re staying in a wooden lodge, especially combined with the hammocks and stunning Mountain View’s. Heri, his wife and Agus are super friendly and offer a wide range of food and drinks for breakfast lunch and dinner! Would definitely stay again.

ItalyStaying at De Chicktoria was the closest I felt to truly experiencing Indonesian culture. Heri, the host, went above and beyond to ensure every guest's comfort and privacy. Indeed, he thoughtfully provided separate rooms whenever possible. Whenever I wanted to dive into the social side of hostel life, the common area was the perfect spot. I spent countless hours engaging in fascinating conversations with the friendly and knowledgeable staff and travelers. Their insights and stories enriched my stay and deepened my appreciation for the local culture. Can't wait to go back.
