How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe lush grounds were great. Small pool kept clean. Loved the Management Young men who ran the property. They would make sure you had anything you needed.
Unfortunately, I was there during a very bad rainy season pouring almost every day so the outdoor bathroom became a problem during heavy rains. There were some roof leaks. They didn’t inform me that after you ran out of propane gas in the kitchen you would have to buy it yourself .
i am sorry Victoria for inconvenience, thx a lot for your information, see you next time

Verified reviewThe place itself is nice, with a beautiful garden and spacious rooms. The open-roof bathroom adds to the experience. It’s located away from the usual touristic spots. There’s a cozy coffee shop next door on the right with great coffee and tasty food, and a warung around the corner serving delicious food at nice prices.
You can hear motorbikes and cars from the road while in the room, and in the evening, there are often loud voices, likely from people who gather nearby the guesthouse. Traffic is heavy on one of the nearby main roads, making it difficult to get around during the day, even with a bike, especially in the heat of the day. The AC isn’t powerful enough to cool the room during the day, so it’s uncomfortably warm and hard to stay inside during the day. The walls are thin, so if other guests are sitting outside on the terrace talking or taking calls, it can be disruptive and make it difficult to relax in the evenings or at night.

Verified reviewHammocks in front of the rooms are nice. Outdoor bathrooms are cool too. Unfortunately it's a bit loud from the road right behind the huts, but that probably depends if you stay in the rooms next to the street. Maybe it's a bit more quiet in the rooms facing the other side. Sometimes we had a rat visiting us inside. So if tou are afraid of them it's probably not going to be your favourite place. But for the price it's not so bad.
Noise from the road and rats
thx Armyn

Verified reviewI loved my stay here and will be back! its such a pleasant oasis amongst Changgus chaos! its super relaxing, and chill and I loved having the little kitchenette, and loved the outdoor bathroom. theres a nice little coffee shop just next door as well. The pool is clean and refreshing. Its farther from the trusty area of Changgu and about a 10/15min motorbike ride to the beach, but I was happy to be a little away from it all to be honest :) Oh also the gardens are beautiful and lush and I loved my hammock!
honestly every thing was clean and nice, I can't really think of anything. IF anything I'd say the surrounding area is noisy but they can't really do much about it- its not their fault! I genuinely enjoyed it here!
thax a lot Rebecca, you are very kind see you next time..🙏🏽🙏🏽

Verified reviewBeautiful little bungalow on the a tiny street off Berawas main road. Very private and quite inside community. You can unfortunately hear the hustle and bustle of main road, but that is one of the cons of living so close to the centre.
I thought room cleaning was included, but apparently isn't. Apart from that, it's a charming little place to decompress, lush vegetation around, a beautiful pool area and Ketut the owner is very kind.
thx a lot Clara, for cleaning service is we do each 3 days after stays, that is why you did not get it, bcs you just stay 3 days. but it is ok, maybe for the next i Will do every two days guest staying, thank you so much for your good review...🙏🙏

Verified reviewWe moved to this place from another homestay, at the tail end of a handful of early check-outs due to accommodations not matching photos / descriptions. We are both pretty hardy travellers but also aren't so keen to rough it these days, and prefer a little more comfort. We were tossing up between here and another, more central Canggu accom, and we quite worried about moving here for our last few days, as the photos didn't look super inviting. HOWEVER, we were so so happy with this place when we arrived. The photos don't do it justice. It's a small homestay tucked down a side street off a main road, so whilst you can hear bike noises, it's still really peaceful and away from the chaos of central Canggu areas. The gardens were really beautiful, the pool was lush. The rooms were way bigger than we expected, super spacious. The style of the building takes inspiration from traditional Indonesian houses, with rattan roofs, but still feels super solid. The bed was absolutely massive and really comfortable. There's everything you need - a fridge, a small cooking area (great for reheating food, boiling water and chopping fruit / making snacks). My personal highlight was the outdoor bathroom - fantastic outdoor shower and toilet, with lovely giant taro plants. It was so special to shower at night amongst nature and look at the stars. Also, it completely removes the usual sewery bathroom smell you often find in indoor humid bathrooms in the tropics. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There's a great little coffee spot 30 seconds out of the gate (Hopper Coffee), the staff (and the coffee, and the banana bread) will make your day.
My ONLY downfall was no water refill. I try to reduce my plastic waste whilst traveling and love having easy access to refill my water bottle. Hot water for drinks on access would be great too. The bad reviews people left about 'mould on the ceiling' and being 'unclean' I would take with a pinch of salt. Yes there is some black mould visible on the rattan roof - it's a natural material and a tropical environment, it's everywhere even in luxury villas. Yes the outdoor shower isn't sparkling, but it's a natural outdoor shower with stones. Whilst we considered these reviews, we assumed once we arrived and saw for ourselves that perhaps some people have too high expectations or it could be their first time in Indonesia (Instagram photos aren't the reality).
thank you so much Tawny... i Will make nice foto for the next time...🙏🏽🙏🏽

Verified reviewPool was actually beautiful, that was my favourite part, the garden, and outdoor bathroom garden was amazing. Bed was huge and comfy. Good airconditioner. Shower was good with hot water.
I will be the Karen of Bali because I am disappointed in those useless reviews and then I come to place and end up fooled. First of all everything is a bit rotten. There is mold in the roof. We stayed in room 6 and black mold in bathroom was just falling on our heads there. There is one spot that need immediate renovation. There are two sinks kitchen and for face washing. They both are ridiculous. Kitchen sink sewer pipes fell apart after we opened the tap with too hard pressure. Other sink tap is missing the tip, so water goes everywhere but where you need it. Toilet was kinda broken, a little water was running nonstop. Also we spent the first day defrosting the fridge as it was covered with 5cm ice and was loud. Internet was not good. Houses are right next to the road, so most of the time there was scooter noise. Kitchen corner was disgusting. Ugly dirty dishes they should throw through out. Dish set made no sense. One of each, but two people are staying in the room. Also there was only one towel when we checked in.
