Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIf I really have to say something they could give more info on the beautiful sea life that is just behind the rocks in front of the resort: the water just right on the beach is lousy but if you take the kayak and paddle a little bit there is a whole beautiful sea scene to be observed. They did not tell us and we discovered by ourselves but it is a big plus for the place!
Coconut Garden was amazing. The room was wonderful, the open air bathroom one of a kind and huge! The staff was amazing, they also find more soft pillows for the bed and they clean and change towels every day. They have a super nice breakfast with fresh fruit and a dish of your choice and the food was delicious! They prepared us a breakfast box (not so rich though) to take to the volcano trip! The tour to Pulau Babi was very well organized and the snorkeling was great… not to mention the fresh grilled fish at Babi Island!!!! The pampered us in many ways and we spent there wonderful relaxing days.

GermanyThis are suggestions to make the stay even more pleasant: The mat in the bathroom before entering the room again is not really getting your feet sand free and clean. The mosquito net is not closing well. The mattress could be more comfortable. It’s nice that they provide free water bottle refill, but the staff takes very long to do so (sometimes more than 1h). What we really didn’t like: On our check out day the taxi (organised by the hotel) to bring us to the airport didn’t show up, the staff was incompetent to find a solution and we had to suggest that someone brings us by scooter, so we wouldn’t miss our flight.
We stayed 3 nights and felt like having a holiday during our long travel. The resort is beautiful with so many details to discover. The highlight is the bathroom. It feels like being outside in nature! The view from the bungalow is really nice. The food was very good and the staff friendly. We recommend to take a massage, it’s absolutely worth it!

FranceWe knew this before arriving - but not much choice of places to eat close by (within walking distance) so most nights we ate at the hotel. You can eat at 2 other hotels up the beach (need to preorder) or at warungs in town. The bungalows are in good shape but the rest of the place is starting to look a bit run down.
We stayed in a beach bungalow (2 adults + 2 teens) which was very spacious and clean with an amazing outside bathroom. Big breakfast (fresh fruit, juice, pancakes, eggs etc). Canoes and SUPs are available free of charge for guests - perfect as the sea is a bit shallow for swimming. Day trips can be organised from hotel (Ikat village, snorkeling etc). A very calm place to stay a couple of days.

GermanyMy second time here and it’s so good, it’s worth flying to Maumere for. Unique bamboo houses right on the beach, with outdoor bathrooms set in the sand yet offering full western comfort. Most of the time, you’ll have the beach to yourself. Truly relaxing and highly recommended.

AustraliaThe bed and pillows in our ‘honeymoon villa’ were a little too firm for comfort. However in our boys’ ‘superior bungalow’ they were very soft, so maybe we are just a bunch of Goldilocks! The property is isolated - no shop within walking distance. If you live on diet soft drinks, prepare for drinking lots of still water (which is not a bad thing!)
Rustic villas/bungalows beautifully decorated with artefacts. Serene clean beach. Lovely accommodating staff. Delicious food.

United Arab EmiratesService, while good, was extremely slow. One time it took over half an hour to order a simple drink in the restaurant. I understand that it takes time to prepare fresh food, but the attendance in the restaurant could be improved. Consistency: the first day I asked about a shared snorkeling tour the price was 550k per person, when I booked it (shared) next day suddenly I was explained the price was 600k and there was zero acknowledgment that the previous day the same staff told me it was a different price. While it’s a small price difference, it is still annoying that there is no consistency here. Noise: while not the resorts fault, the neighbor that lives right behind the resort plays loud music day and night. I suggest brining earplugs to sleep at night.
Attention to detail in decorations! All the little beach decorations that you’ll find all around the resort and rooms. The location is absolutely gorgeous and the food was very fresh. Snorkeling trip was very nice and highly recommended!

AustraliaAt low tide, the beach had a bit of plastic rubbish on it, which was sad to see, but plastic pollution is a major problem in all of Flores. Wherever you live, let's try and stop the plastics getting into our oceans and onto the beautiful Island of Flores beaches.
The gardens are lovely and the accommodation is well appointed and the decor is the highlight. You couldn't be anywhere more tropical! We felt very comfortable and safe. The staff were friendly and helpful. We went back for a second night as we enjoyed it so much.

NetherlandsThe location itself is not as special as the resort that was created. Lot's of plants and snakes in the water. Not so much corals. The equipment (SUP, kayak, snorkel gear, gym) looks a bit torn down, but is functional. The difference between bungalows and cottages is clear, but the difference between the various types of cottages not so much, except that some cottages are situated first in line towards the ocean (the second line still has sea view too).
Amazing attention to design, both in the bungalows / cottages and the terrain. Very serene place. Tasty and plenty of choice in food. Loved, loved, loved the outdoor bathroom with moonlight showers.

United KingdomHaving just arrived from the UK, this was a great place to unwind for a few days before travelling across Flores. The beachfront bungalow was just perfect. Big shady veranda with a hammock and beanbag. The outdoor bathroom was fabulous. The staff are lovely people. I think most people stay here for a night or two, but I could have stayed longer than the 4 nights I did. If you hire a scooter, the areas outside Maumere are beautiful and well worth a look. The only downside was the amount of rubbish on the nearby beaches. If you can overlook that, it is a nice walk in both directions along the beach. The photos are taken walking nearby. Free use of a kayak is also a bonus. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it.

A beautiful bungalow absolute beachfront. We open the front door at night and the sea air blew over us. Magical. The outdoor bathroom was so special, I felt like I was showering under the stars. The staff were super (like everywhere else in Flores) and friendly and helpful. We had a great two nights stay. A bit out of town though and you have to eat at the hotel. Laundry service.

A dream resort, built with lots of love and lots of details to discover. My bungalow with a view of the sea was a dream. This love of detail continues inside and in the open-air bathl, there are lots of details to discover. There is also a place to chill out with a hammock right outside the door, as well as rattan chairs and two beanbags. The resort also has an airy feel, as the total area of the resort is large, so you don't step on each other's toes. The staff is very helpful and service-oriented. Great team. Some people complain that you have to order your dinner an hour in advance. When I go to a restaurant in Europe, I also have to wait for the food I ordered, and that doesn't apply to all dishes, and if you're on the run, this absolutely chilled resort is definitely not the right place for you. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
