GermanyCleanliness could be improved, some staints on the floor for example. Bathroom was okay but everything gets wer when you shower. No opportunities to store or hang your stuff.
It is not a homestay but more a professional b&b. We had a good time at Christika and would book it again. Nice backyard for breakfast, small balcony with our room. Room was okay, bed quite comfortable. Shower had warm water but not stable.

AustraliaThis is one of those hotels with lousy acoustics. Lots of tiles and hard surfaces. When someone closes their door it sounds like a slam. When someone speaks in a corridor it sounds like shouting. Def aim for an upstairs room away from the busy communal and reception areas.
I've just wound up 4 nights here. Firstly it's a small hotel, not a traditional homestay. It's a couple of km out of town but l didn't mind. The downtown area is quite busy, touristy and noisy (5am mosque alarm anyone?). With a bike you are only 5 min away on good roads. Rooms are functional and comfy enough. Decent bedding, roomy bathroom, good hot water when it arrives. The aircon gets the job done (just). The buffet brekky is always a welcome sight. Staff were always around when you needed them.

United KingdomThe breakfast I went for breaky at half 9 and most of it was put away and not a lot of options for vegetarian/vegan. No bread left so I could not even have toast with jam which was a bit of a shame but honestly this did not change how much I liked the place.
Great place, wonderful staff, nice free pick up from airport, the cutest puppy, comfortable bed, clean room.

SingaporeYou need to ensure you are ok to take scooter from time to time in order for you to go to your places of interests in case u dint pre planned your transpo before coming down. Transpo though isnt that difficult to get in labuan bajo using gojek

United KingdomBreakfast was very basic and could definitely be improved. Essentially a loaf of white bread with jam/chocolate spread and some fried rice. Location is not close to the centre of town at all. Definitely not walkable. You either need your own vehicle, the kindness of the staff or taxis to get around!
A nice hotel for a night or two. Staff picked us up from the airport and kindly dropped us into town on a separate day Room was a decent size, comfy bed and decent bathroom. Water cooler available which was great for the environment!

New ZealandA Wonderful warm welcome.. this Very Safe and Secure guest house is Extremely clean and very comfortable with good aircon rooms excellent facilities and a very good help yourself buffet breakfast .bottled water was supplied in my room All staff were friendly welcoming and very helpful particularly Joe who can organized an excellent deal on my motor scooter which I will have for 10-14 days exploring Flores. Joe also gave great advise on various tours available. I Highly recommend this place. Restaurants and convenience stores all close by Hugh from New Zealand stayed two nights and will return here when finished my tour before flying back to Bali.

Everyone was so friendly & nice! Joe went above & beyond whatever we need he was there. I thought he was the manger the way he works he needs to be! The family & staffed showed us so much respect & gratitude. They let us cook if we wanted w/o any problems. I would stay here again. The airport is 9 mins away & on grab bike the town is only 10mins

MalaysiaNo elevator/lift, so if you need one keep that in mind. There's only two floors, so no big deal. No convenience stores nearby, so plan accordingly.
Wonderful Manager/staff, very friendly and anxious to please. Very clean rooms, good a/c, clean check in areas, good but simple breakfast, filtered water filling station in hallway of hotel, easy to refill bottles. A little far from action area of town but transportation both there and back were provided at no charge and with a smile. Close to airport. Our flight was delayed for a few hours and they let us stay in our room extra time with no charge. Also provided free transportation to the airport.

GermanySince a neighbor was celebrating a three-day wedding, it was unbearably loud. The music was audible and even palpable, despite earplugs. The hotel owner proactively offered to find another hotel for us, which we gladly accepted. The new hotel was not nearly as nice and clean as Christika, but it was quiet.
The house is located on a busy street. Overall, the area is not touristy and is quite dirty. In contrast, Christika is a clean and well-maintained house. The rooms are in excellent condition—spacious, cool, and clean. We also found a nice snack bar nearby.
