How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewfacade is kind of land mark so you can easily find the property. Walking distance in kraton area to reach the attraction. Breakfast is good, there are various options of menu, plus coffee and fruit. The deco is nice as well. We think is the best choice in downtown yogyakarta.

Verified reviewI had an amazing stay at Ceria Hotel in Yogyakarta. The property has a beautiful 1970s-inspired décor that gives it a unique and charming character. My room was absolutely fantastic—spacious, comfortable, and easily one of the best I experienced during my entire trip to Indonesia. The location is excellent, just a short walk to Malioboro Street, where we enjoyed strolling every evening. Breakfast offered plenty of options to suit different tastes, and the staff went above and beyond with their outstanding service. We also arranged day trips through the hotel with Yulis, whose service was truly top-notch. Thanks to him, our visits to Borobudur and Prambanan temples were seamless and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Ceria Hotel for anyone visiting Yogyakarta—it’s full of charm, comfort, and wonderful hospitality.

Verified reviewThe exterior is pretty and the common area decorated and filled with beautiful catalogues you can take out to read during the stay.
Before entering the room I was warned that there would be mosquitoes. There was A BUNCH - even if they didn’t bite. The bathroom wasn’t properly maintained and there were stains on our mouthwash cups. For the price that we paid I figured the linens could be of better quality.

Verified reviewThis hotel is a real gem, I loved the art deco design and music from that era playing it was like stepping back in time! Staff also very friendly and helpful with ideas for trips and restaurants etc. There is a water machine providing hot and cold water along with tea/coffee which is a nice addition, and breakfast choices were varied.

Verified review- All staff are very friendly and keen to help - Our room (Junior Suite) is spacious with high ceiling - Complimentary Wi-Fi is fast and stable - Air-conditioner works pretty well - Both natural light and in-room lighting are great and sufficient - Quiet inside the hotel (an important thing for a good night sleep) - Free bicycles for hotel guest to use - We like the food (breakfast) at the hotel cafe (best french fries we had in Yogyakarta) - Money exchange service partner came to the hotel to serve with good exchange rate - The retro decor is lovely - Location is in walking distance to JL Malioboro

Verified reviewSuperb. One of the most enjoyable stays we've had in our travels. The buildings, decor and furnishings are all in the art deco style even down to the 1940's music that plays in the background creating a wonderful atmosphere. Surrounding each of the buildings is a beautifully maintained garden with many specimen plants. Great location, close to many of the tourist sites. Our room was clean, well maintained with a comfortable bed. The water purifier, cooler/heater outside the room was a very nice touch meaning ice cold water or hot coffee/tea was there whenever we wanted it. The staff at the hotel were some of the friendliest and most helpful we've come across. A good breakfast is served as well as meals available throughout the day, all of good quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay and would happily return and recommend the Ceria Hotel to others.
