How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI love how secluded this place feels, even amongst other villas it feels private and luxurious. Breakfast was fantastic every day, the room was huge and giant bed was incredibly soft, as were the pillow. The bathroom is clean, spacious and although outdoors felt very private and comfortable.
Nothing to dislike about it, although it is worth noting that this place doesn’t have much in the way of room service so make sure you stock up your snacks and drinks for poolside relaxing

The rooms that back onto the adjoining property where roosters wake you up very early. The pool area could do with a touch up ie lawns and shower.

No shaded seating by the pool. Also it would be nice if there was more comfortable seating on the villa verandah where you could read a book, for example.

Verified reviewAdvertised as Seminyak but really Kerobokan and so it was quite far to commute, especially through busy traffic/intersections. But the cafes and restaurants within walking distance were good and some good local shops. Seminyak central is a fair distance. Villa was nice, smaller than looks in the photos but still nice. Beds clean and comfortable. Loved the outdoor shower.
The villa said it had cooking facilities and tea and coffee facilities. There was nothing to cook on, not even a BBQ. There was also no microwave as advertised. Weird amount of tableware, only 1 bowl, 1 fork. This was a 2 bedroom villa so expected more and was disappointed that we couldn't cook or heat up food etc. There was a kettle. That's as far as it went for tea and coffee facilities. When our room was cleaned our towels were not replaced, we were left with no towels on each day. I had to collect more and the fresh ones were taken when the room was serviced, even though still folded. This left us with no towels again. Not the fault of Casa Batu Belig but our villa backed on to the back of another villa. This was booked by a group of young men. The last night's we were kept awake until after midnight by them enjoying the pool in their villa, their scooters coming and going until after 2am. This meant 2 sleepless nights in a row. It was peaceful before that though.

To clarify, our villa is indeed located in the Seminyak area, specifically in the Batu Belig neighborhood, which can be verified on Google Maps. We understand that traffic in the area can sometimes be heavy, especially during peak hours, and we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the nearby cafes and local shops. Regarding the kitchen facilities, we apologize for the confusion. We currently offer basic amenities, and it seems some of them may not have been clearly visible, for example, the tea and coffee setup is located inside the kitchen drawer, which may have been overlooked. As for the microwave and cookware, we appreciate your feedback and will review our listing to ensure it accurately reflects what's available. We will also address the limited tableware to better accommodate groups. We’re very sorry for the towel replacement issue, this was certainly not up to our standards, and we’ll follow up with our housekeeping team to ensure it doesn’t happen again. While we cannot always control noise from neighboring villas, we completely understand how disruptive it can be, and we’ll look into how we can better assist in such situations moving forward. Pool area needs a little attention. The wooden boarding is getting weathered and there were some loose rusty nails. Other than that, it was all a perfect stay. My bath seemed to leak so water didnt stay in long but I think it just had a crack in it. Drains got a bit overwhelmed at times but that's Bali so no big deal. I find it hard to complain :-)
