When you booked with us in February, we sent both a welcome message and an email with our direct contact details, a Guest Guide outlining services, and information about our dining options. We can confirm this was sent prior to your arrival. As a small boutique property, our meals are freshly prepared to order. We ask for 24 hours’ notice so we can purchase ingredients the same day and avoid unnecessary waste, though we do our best to accommodate same-day requests whenever possible. Our menu is vegetarian and vegan, as outlined in the guide, and these details are also indicated in our Booking.com listing. That said, we are exploring ways to make this even clearer on the booking site. For guests who prefer something outside our menu or a faster option, there are many local restaurants and third-party delivery services nearby. Our team is happy to assist with arrangements, and when guests miss the 24-hour ordering window we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests. It is standard practice for us to send every guest a pre-arrival reminder one day before check-in, which includes the Guest Guide, ordering reminders, and an invitation to share special requests. These steps were followed in your case. Following your feedback, we also reviewed our Booking.com listing to ensure accuracy. While some professional photos naturally benefit from better lighting or weather, when compared to guest photos on Google we believe they represent the villas accurately. From what you shared, it seemed that part of your concern was about proximity to Ubud Centre. To clarify, we always note in our listing and emails that Capung Asri is set between the jungle and rice fields, a more remote location that is part of the experience we offer. A local convenience store is about a five-minute walk, and if guests prefer, our team can pick up items on their behalf. We describe Capung Asri as “affordable luxury,” offering private pool villas at a lower price point than many comparable properties. While we may not provide the same experience as large five-star resorts, our goal is to create a personal and unique retreat. Our team normally takes great care in preparing special touches for our guests, and we’ll be following up internally to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Our management team did check in with you during your stay, but this concern wasn’t brought to our attention. Regarding the local religious ceremonies, these are an important part of Balinese culture and vary by village and family. We certainly don’t want this to affect your overall experience. Regarding the pool deck, we’re aware of the issue. Unfortunately, heavy rainfall has caused some damage to the materials, but we’re already planning a full renovation during our upcoming maintenance period. One of our signature offerings is a traditional Balinese meal served in the rice fields, with the option of low floor seating or a table with high chairs. I regret that the latter was not offered to you, and I will be reviewing this with the team to ensure all guests are made aware of their options. Mini Market Access While we don’t have an on-site minimarket, there is one conveniently located just across from our main entrance path, a short walk away. I’m sorry if this wasn’t communicated clearly during your stay. Spa & Wellness Our spa treatments are offered in the privacy of your villa—either inside, in your gazebo, or in our open-air yoga shala. You are right that we do not have a standalone spa building, but we aim to bring the wellness experience to you in a serene, personal setting. WiFi Outage I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the WiFi issues. Unfortunately, this was a provider-related problem beyond our control, but we remained in regular contact with the technicians and, ultimately, installed a brand-new line from a different provider to resolve the issue. We also offered complimentary floating breakfasts or spa services to affected guests as a gesture of goodwill. I appreciate your patience and understanding. Payment and ATM Access As noted in our confirmation emails and welcome message, we currently only accept cash payments, and while there are ATMs in the area, they are not within walking distance. I understand this can be an inconvenience, and we are actively looking into alternative solutions for the future. Guest Service & Butler Support Our butlers are trained to provide 24-hour support via WhatsApp, and I’m disappointed to hear this was not your experience. I’ll be following up with the team immediately to ensure service standards are upheld. Path Lighting We are aware of the need for improved lighting on the path and are working on solutions. In the meantime, flashlights are provided in each villa, and our team ensures automatic lights are functioning in the evening hours. Housekeeping Standards Your comment about the towels is concerning, as all linens should be clean, fresh, and soft. I’ve already asked the team to audit our towel inventory and remove any items that do not meet our quality standards. Transportation Support Our butler service includes arranging transportation and tours, and it’s disappointing that this wasn’t offered or communicated to you effectively. I will ensure this is reinforced in our service training. Owner Availability Unfortunately, I wasn’t on-site during your stay, but I did try reaching out via WhatsApp to check in. I would have appreciated the chance to personally assist you and make things right during your time with us. Thank you again for your honest review.
