How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOur room was nice and big, which inlcluded a small kitchen. Parking area was avaialable so it is convenient when you have a car with you.
The check in time was so late. We only managed to check in at around 4pm. Although it's not the hotels fault because the previous guest checked out very late.

The room, deluxe room is a scam. It's just a huge room with lots of space but nothing in it. Literally same equipment as standard room just more expensive. The wifi isn't working at all. No breakfast provided. Neighborhood is horrible. As soon as you step outside there is so much traffic you even walk a meter next to the street since there are no sidewalks. Entry is in a parking garage? If you live on third floor you don't have proper walls so you can hear all the cars from the main street outside. No free toiletries provided, not even soap

Verified reviewWe stayed in an amazing brand new bungalow, which was beautiful, very clean, spacious and really comfortable. Location was great for us as we wanted to be a little bit outside the busy Uluwatu Beach area and it was still only a 10-15min scooter ride to get there. Staff was really nice and helpful as well.

We booked Brisk Homestay through Booking.com and shortly after, received a message directly via the platform’s chat with a payment link to an external site. They started sending us several urgent messages warning that if we didn’t pay immediately, the reservation would be canceled. Right before paying, we noticed the payment recipient didn’t match the name of the property, but by then, we had already transferred the money. Later we found out that other guests had received the same messages. When we arrived for check-in, we confirmed we had been scammed. Ari, the receptionist, was the only kind and helpful person. We demanded to speak with someone responsible, and that’s when things got worse: the manager (Olivia) never showed up, never answered calls, never came in person, and showed zero interest in what had happened. She just kept insisting that we should pay again for the stay. She told us the bank would refund the first payment and that we should simply pay again. To this day, my bank has not refunded the money. Besides the stress and financial loss, we had to file a police report and travel twice to Denpasar. We spent weeks dealing with international calls, blocking cards, changing passwords, talking to the bank… Almost every day of our vacation was ruined. ⚠️ This place is not trustworthy, takes no responsibility, and has shown a very suspicious attitude toward a serious scam. Booking.com has been informed, but we still have no resolution. Avoid Brisk Homestay at all costs. And if you ever book it, do not pay anything in advance under any circumstances.

The wash basin in the room didn't have hand wash soap. When I asked, the staff said they don't provide hand wash soap which was very strange. They provided a small bottle of body wash and shampoo in the washroom.

A few days before arriving they literally tried to scam us. Their partner (reddoorz/redpartner) started sending us messages on booking with a link to "confirm our credit card" and tried to charge the sum again which we already paid in advance. Whatever I asked, they just sent automated messages and not real replies. Thankfully I did not provide any details... Later they sent another automated message saying there was "malicious activity". Did not even ask if we paid them or had any loss. I think this agency is just casually scamming people. AVOID REDDOORZ, DO NOT BOOK ANY ACCOMODATION WITH THEM. They did not reach us before arriving and the number given is not available on whatsapp. They do not reply to booking messages, just automated texts. So no way to contact them. When we arrived the guy told us that the room is not ready yet and asked us to wait half an hour (we arrived in the given timeslot). Then he told us that the wooden house we requested is overbooked so they can give us another type of room but we can move to the booked house next day. Well they never asked us if we want to move to the wooden house or not. I actually believe that no such house exists because they were nowhere to be found on the property. The room we were given was actually not that bad in general. But the bed and sheets were really stinky, the worst we ever experienced. No hand towels and soap provided. Despite the big room, no wardrobe. But sitting space for 5 people in a room with a double bed... Didn't make much sense. Overall the whole place had that "somethings just not right" vibe.
