Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The hotel is located in a quiet place, except for the singing of birds and roosters instead of an alarm clock you will not hear anything. Large spacious and very cozy room. Very nice staff. Thank you

NetherlandsThe place is situated between at least 3 mosks, Wich were chanting prayers the whole day and at praying time some were way to loud and you couldn't sleep because of them will wake you up at 4.30. I figured out that that sound becomes louder in the room because the roof acts like a soundscale wich makes the prayers echo much louder than outside. The shower needs a fix, because the water comes out everywhere except from the showerholes.
The staff was really helpful and kind. The bed was great and the room was really big and nice. It's nearby the beach and experiences.

The owner was so caring and very helpful . We booked the dolphin tour with her and it was amazing . Even when I was sick she took so good care .

NorwayFamilyrun, welcoming and friendly. They could sell you tours and transportation, but weren't pushy about it when you had other plans. The room was very spacious and nice. Clean and well kept by Indonesian standards. Large outside terrace, actually many terraces all over. The stairs and upstairs beds in the room we stayed in are not good for children under school age I think, steep stairs, low railings. The pool area was great, larger than it appears in the pictures. The wall art all over the place was awesome! Location: you need to walk a bit to get to the center, , or use a taxi / grab, or they can arrange transportation for you. The sidewalks in Lovina could use some maintenance (don't fall into the holes). The mosque was not next door, but you heard it. With a fan going and earplugs I slept right through.

AustraliaRooms should have a kettle, needed to go to their kitchen to boil a kettle and felt weird. There was no complimentary soap or hand wash in bathroom. Just the little things to make it convenient.
Friendly staff, big comfy room, great shower pressure and many options to relax outside in multiple viewing areas

AustraliaThe mosque drove me a bit bonkers as it started at 4am and is close to the property. I am a light sleeper. It didn’t bother the rest of the family though.
Great spot for kids - they had a great time in the pool and ping pong table. The staff were lovely.

NetherlandsWith a few small changes I think we would have given an 8 instead of a 7: There were a few things missing from the hotel room such as: soap and bin near the toilet (you can't flush paper in Bali). Would have also been nice to have a water cooker and coffee in the room, but you can get that downstairs in the kitchen area. We stayed for a week and there was no cleaning of the room during our stay. The staff was sometimes a little difficult to find during the day and there was some miscommunication about the activities we had planned to do. Overall: for a short 2-3 day stay to do the dolphin tour and snorkeling this place is great. However we stayed for a week, which might have been a bit of a mistake. There's not much else to do in Lovina, the restaurants around are not great and we did a lot of the other things like Hot Springs, Temple visit, Waterfalls on our way over with a tour driver. So I would not recommend staying much longer.
Staff was super friendly. They also organize dolphin and snorkeling tours which is super convenient. They have a really nice setup downstairs with the swimming area, pool table, and table tennis table. The room we stayed in was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well. It was also pretty spacious. You can also rent motor bikes, which is definitely useful for the area. Breakfast that is included has quite a few options and is nice. They have a laundry service which is quick and good.

United StatesI didn't realize it's not really close to anything in particular. The place itself is a distance away from the main road and there are only a few places to eat on the main road. But there's a great grocery store nearby.
The folks that run this place are kind and wonderful people. We asked them to take us to see the dolphins and snorkeling, which they did. Since we were leaving very early in the morning, they packed a breakfast for us and then had a proper breakfast waiting for us when we got back. They also made arrangements for a driver to take us to a few sights. If you can ride a scooter, rent one. It will allow you to explore farther than I could as I don't drive a scooter.

United KingdomThe building is in need of maintenance, the doors don't quite close properly, the Air con was poor, there is alot of outdated electrical equipment that doesn't really work, including the hot tub. The fish tanks are empty. This place would have been amazing 10 years ago, but in need of a revamp now. Did not accept card payment after initial booking.
The staff are soo friendly and helpful, they went out of their way so many times to help us. Theyhelped with our children on many occasions, arranged tours for us, went to the shop for us. It's a good location, loved the proximity to the main strip and the beach, vs its rural location.

United KingdomNothing, we liked everything!
Ita and her family were very attentive and kind. Unprompted they made a birthday crepe with candles for our daughter's birthday and sang happy birthday the day we arrived. I had injured my ankle and needed to see someone to ease pain and swelling, Ita arranged this and translated for me. The trips we went on while at Bottelmania were great particularly swimming with dolphins, snorkelling over coral, visiting Aling Aling waterfall with sliding down the waterfall plus a visit to the hot springs after going to the temple. All priced really well too with transport readily available. We noted on reviews previously about the mosques being loud and frequent but we did not mind this, despite the daily early start. Ita and her family made lovely food and drink for us pretty much whenever we wanted it and it was very tasty. I miss the cinnamon tea that was frequently made for us, so uplifting and new flavour for me. The beds were very comfortable, with good Aircon in the rooms and warm showers. We highly recommend a stay at Bottelmania.

NetherlandsWell if you looked at my messages you would have seen that we turned up and could not check in as they had no Electricity do to a black out in Bali. So we had to go find somewhere else to stay with a generator. So I don’t think the hosts did ask about our stay
