How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewEverything about Big Dragon Villas is lovely. The warmth of the staff, where nothing is too much trouble, the luxury and comfort of the room, and the peace and tranquility of the location. I needed a place to rest, recharge, and also do a bit of work and this place was perfect for that. It's not too far from the centre of Ubud, it's easy to take day trips/tours from, and great if you just want to relax.
For me it was just what I needed. Other reviews have mentioned Grab drivers being unable to collect from here but the hotel offers a service to drive you into town if you don't want to use a bike and it's easy to get a hotel back.

Verified reviewChecked out a night earlier after several nights of noise in the middle of the night from partying guests which they couldn’t keep under control. Although management confirmed they would provide a refund, they did not do so. They are after your money and are not responding to Booking customer services to address the issues. Would not recommend. Many options in and around Ubud where you can get much better value for your money, and decent and honest customer service.

The restaurant is being built and no other option around. The hotel does not apear on Grab map so every trip the staff has to call the driver and explain how to get there. Coming back we once ended up in a different location and had to order another transport. The staff is young an un experienced has a lot to learn and practice to become professional hosts. They charged us x4 times more for laundry + tax and service then what we paid for the same at other hotels. When we checked out they forgot to bill us for it and then chased us with a moto stopping our car in the middle of a narrow road demanding payment …the cleaning was good one day but then got worse by the day to the point that we stoped asking for it.

Verified reviewThe room was very clean, modern , and with beautiful design.
When I checked out, the staff did not find one of the towels they gave me (which was probably misplaced during the room cleanup) and thought I had stolen it! They literally asked me to open my suitcases to check if I didn't have it with me and wouldn't let me go otherwise, saying it was their "own policy" to treat clients like that. I've never experienced anything like that at a hotel!

Verified reviewLovely brand new villa that has been built to a very high standard. We loved this villa and the staff were amazing too. Since it is a new build, the restaurant and bar are still being built but Ubud centre is one 10-15 minutes away so this is not an issue. Location is perfect, away from the Ubud centre chaos but close enough to make multiple trips a day for food and activities. Grab and Gojek struggle to pick up from this area due to local taxis, but keep trying as you do get lucky with drivers (we did).Highly recommend this villa.
Local taxis only let grab and gojek drivers drop off not pick up. Taxis can be a hassle.

Verified reviewMy husband and i LOVED the hotel, its secluded and quiet, its brand new, the room we had was amazing the balcony was my favourite place to meditate or to just get cup of coffee. It's well equipped and we had everything we needed. The staff,Ayu, juni, wahmang and agung were so sweet and helpfull, the made our stay even more enjoyable. Next time we are in Bali we are definitely coming back.
The only thing that was bit of a trouble is the location, it is actually not that far from ubud center but its located in a "non touristic" area and apparently the locals do not let grab drivers pass through their neighbourhood to get to the hotel so we did have some drivers that cancelled on us but it happened only 2 or 3 times plus we just rebook on grab and we would get our ride within few minutes

The place is still under construction so there was a lot of noise. Also issue with the water pipes that are keep making loud noise overnight. The place is quite far out of Ubud city centre and always had problems with ordering a taxi, or when you finally managed to book a taxi they cancelled because of the local taxi company didn’t let them in the area. Please be mindful of this if you are planning to spend more time in Ubud

Coffee and tea maker are provided which made my morning and afternoon very relaxing while watching beautiful rice field and pool view with hot coffee. Very recommended
