Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe hot water was hard to work out as it took ages to get hot. There was a kitchen but barely any cutlery so was hard for breakfasts
The property was built in a good location - set back from the street so didn’t hear any noise. The rooms and living area was spacious and clean.

TurkeyThere is some serious construction going on around, but it wasn't too noisy.
The room was big and clean. I had a room upstairs, and the jungle view was amazing. Breakfast was alright. Wifi worked fine. The Balinese family living in the compound shared some fresh snacks with me :)

AustriaUnfortunately it was surrounded by construction during my stay and finding the way to the homestay was not easy. I also ended up getting the room on the ground floor next to their kitchen, living area and bike parking lot so it was noisy from early morning on with bikes going in and out and people talking and children playing loudly next to my room. I advice people who like to sleep in to ask for a room in the first floor further back, should be more quiet there.
Very clean and spacious room. Bed and sheets felt very comfortable and allowed me to have a good sleep. Staff was very friendly and helpfully and let me check out late. Everything went smoothly and I would definitely book another night or two for my next Ubud trip. They offered me breakfast every morning :}

United StatesThey are constructing a very large new building between the street and Homestay plus new building right behind so it was not a peaceful garden setting as viewed in pictures.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very nice, great shower, very comfortable bed, nicely furnished and with air conditioner you could control. They cleaned the room daily, offered fresh towels when needed. The room had an electric tea kettle and the visitor kitchen area had a refrig, filtered water, dishes and cooking .The location was 10 minute walk to the main palace and 45 min walk to the Yoga Barn. The breakfast was great, you got to choose from 3 options and the time delivered.

United KingdomOnly one towel per person was given, not a big problem, but it would be nice to have a back up/fresh towels after 1 day.
Lovely staff, helpful and available. Lovely and quiet apartment very near the centre, we could safely walk downtown even at night . This is not your normal stay, it feels like you are walking in one of the locals'homes. We loved seeing first hand the culture and traditions of this family, and eat their delicious pancakes. They are building at the moment, but our accommodation was not affected by it.

SpainIf you go on tours during the day there is no problem, but if you want to rest in the morning, from 7am to 8pm you can hear children screaming and since there is construction going on, there is noise.
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, overall it was good.

Thailandthe traffic around the area is horrible...but then it's like this most of Bali. The place looks like a temple...but again it's like this in most of Bali. At first we're not sure if this is really the place fromt he looks.
The accommodation is very large with 2 bedrooms and a dining room. Plenty of water provided. There is a large refrigerator and a stove but no microwave or TV. Location is, great I guess, within walking distance to Ubud palace and all the shops, restaurants. Breakfast is nice, the owner provided food at time requested even though it's earlier than usual time.

IndiaUnfortunately, we found an iron nail in our breakfast which got dislodged from the ladle while making the Nasi Goreng. Good that my mom did not get hurt and the hosts were genuinely sorry about it and made us another dish as an apology. For two days, only one slice of bread cut into two pieces and a very small portion of scrambled egg (with fruits and tea) were given in breakfast and when asked for another piece of bread, we were told that there is none. On the third day, we asked for Nasi Goreng, instead of bread which they were again planning to serve. Breakfast did not match the pics from others travellers or booking.com.
The rooms were clean and very spacious. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Our hosts were very friendly, helpful, courteous and humble. They even packed breakfast at 6 A.M. for us to take on our trip to Nusa Penida. Location was also convenient. The garden, the sound of the fountain, the birds chirping, everything made our stay very beautiful.

United KingdomNo big deal but there was an annoying alarm like noise coming from downstairs a lot of the time. Couldn’t hear it too much in the room but sitting outside was rather annoying in such a tranquil setting!
A lovely room, clean spacious and very comfortable. Easily walkable to the main center of Ubud in just a few minutes. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was very nice.
