Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe homestay is super run down and rooms have no character. The pool looked better suited to a crocodile habitat. There's alot of building works happening in the plots around the homestay and at night, there's some Bollywood type karaoke bar close by pumping out the tunes. In summary.. it's a super noisey place.
The staff were friendly and were quick to fix a hole in the mosquito mesh when I asked.

NorwayRun down place, no hot water and no door to the bathroom. Large gap in the door. Light switch falling off the wall. Need of repairs.
Good location and price. Not many cheap places around Uluwatu. Easy walk to restaurants and bars. Friendly staff and good AC. Overall, you get what you pay for here.

CanadaA bit of construction going on around the property so a bit loud at some times of the day but that’s out of their hands.

Good location, close too everything you can even walk to blue point or Thomas beach. Not expensive at all, I had my own bungalow, it was way enough. Swimming pool is great and the guests are lovely :)

East TimorThey didn't clean the room until after I left. The bathroom light switch had exposed wires, and I got a few electric shocks. When I asked for it to be fixed, they did it quite quickly, which makes me think they could have done it earlier and avoided this problem.
Location is ok. Between Padang Padang beach and Uluwatu Temple.

CanadaThe place is old, hasn't been maintained in years, mold on the concrete, light switches hanging from the wall, doors not working properly or big gaps for mosquitoes and frogs to enter. No free water like most other places The price was right for what you get. Dont complain..
Location is good away from all the road noise in the jungle just down a small road off the main road. Nice and quiet the pool is simple but nice, lots of trees all around.

PortugalBungalows get too hot during the day as they are not isolated, so even though there's AC, at around 10h00 it's already too hot in the room. Since they are charging 100k for the motorbike, I suggest renting it for 24h instead of having to always return it at 4pm regardless of the time the guest picks it up...
Very cheap price for the stay in a convenient location (although renting a bike is necessary to move around), very nice pool accessible at any time, comfortable bed and air conditioning in the room. No sink in the bathroom, but considering the price, it wasn't an issue

AustraliaThe bathroom was pretty bad. Cold shower only. The shower was all rusted and just a handheld nozzle coming out of the wall in the middle of the room. The staff upon arrival weren't overly friendly. In fact, the guy was asleep on the floor of the reception and proceeded to serve me like he was still half asleep. It was only midday. It's common to come across people napping in Bali. Usually, I'm not phased, but the encounter was odd. The grounds in general could do with some work. It would take much TLC to make this place great. I've stayed in alot nicer places in the same price point. So I don't think I'd recommend if there are other spots available
It was cheap. Good spot for one or 2 nights if nothing else is available. Or if you're just looking for somewhere cheap in Ulus and don't intend to spend much time there. The room was a good size. Bed was comfortable. The homestay itself has a lot of potential. With some TLC, it could be great!

GermanyIs a guest house so they don’t offer anything else as the a place to stay and is very basic. Nothing extra is available, even you need to buy the drinking water, and is cold shower. You pay basically for the good location.
The place is very good located, is in the middle of Uluwatu a couple of mats from Padang Padang.
