Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceBathrooms “from an other age” that may need to be refreshed Flies everywhere during the day (not linked to the guesthouse itself) , what is really annoying Unfair price suggested by the manager (not on site) to organise mont Batur trek. Explanations that this price is “the same for all” is absolutely false as we have found far less expensive by ourselves directly in the village, with the same services…
Great location Small hot water pool on site Nice staff on site and it’s recommendations for meals and hot baths Support of the manager (not on site) via booking chat to organise our arrival and once on site (except trek organisation - refer to “points to improve” part)

United StatesIt would have been nice if they provided drinking water for the rooms. Rooms could have been cleaner and updated. We organized the sunrise hike through them and were told we'd have 2 guides for our group of 6, but only had 1.
It was close to the trailhead for the Mt Batur hike which is why we went to Kintamani. Walking distance to a few restaurants. Small dipping pool fed by natural hot springs was pleasant in the evening. Hot water shower. Tasty noodles for breakfast. Bed sheets were clean. For the remote area, it was not a bad place to stay; I may stay again, but I also would search to see if there were other options.

New ZealandFacecloths, would be good to have.
This guest place was a quiet retreat even though it was so close to the main road into Uluwatu. The pool was excellent on the hot days with pool towels provided and we were pleased to be able to prepare food etc in the small outdoors kitchenette provided. Good fridge there too. Near to many food outlets.

AustraliaTook over an hour every morning for breakfast. One of the hosts’ English wasn’t great, so when we tried to organise a customised trip it was very hard. We ended up finding locals on the street and organising a few activities through them instead. The safe didn’t have power or batteries so we couldn’t use it.
It was a convenient location to commence Mt Batur trekking. Handy having a family room available which is rare in Bali. Room comfortable but the bed was rock hard, definitely need new mattresses. There is a small pool on site that has the hot spring water which was enjoyable. Host gave us a good price for the mt batur hike and supplied walking sticks & head torches which was appreciated.

United StatesThe bathroom could use a major overhaul. The toilet seat and cover is broken. Also, the toilet has no room in front of it to put your feet making it unsafe to use and stand. As a matter of fact, the entire bathroom is dirty everywhere including the floor, and it smells like a urine pit. You have to close the bathroom door to keep the smell in place. No shampoo and soap were provided although nicely rolled up towels were present. The room only has a fan with no a/c unit. There were lots of flies and mosquitoes that it was difficult to keep them from getting into the room.
Located at the foot of Mount Batur that enables you to trek directly up to the volcano to see the amazing sunrise. The property also has a beautiful garden and a direct view of Lake Batur from the back balcony. They also have a small hot spring pool that you can access at your convenience. The staff is very friendly and reachable at anytime. The room itself minus the bathroom is fine.

SpainToo many flies (rainy season) and maybe a ceiling fan would be good, as if you wanna avoid the flies you must stay inside, that is quite fresh by night.
Basic room with a great comfy bed and excellent water supply device. Hotspring pool is a must after a long day. 🐶 arw very friendly. Very easy to organize the sunrise trekking to Gunung Batur.

United StatesThe staff was sometimes difficult to find and was not responsive to our Whatsapp. The hot spring was inconsistently full (sometimes day and sometimes night). It was challenging to get rides to and from the hotel to activities in the area.
We liked the property and the room. The separate attached rooms were perfect for us. The water machine when it was working was very nice to have.

NetherlandsThe interior design is a bit outdated, but it depends on you as a person whether that is important or not. There are a lot of flies, but I think it's impossible to escape that in this part of Bali.
Location was near the start of our Mount Batur sunrise track. The location is right next to the Hot Springs. The buildings and garden of the guest house have nice aesthetics. The staff is friendly. The breakfast was good. The rooms, beds and bathroom were clean.
