How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was perfectly planned. We stayed in a private villa with a pool overlooking the most amazing view. The garden, the pool, the outdoor spaces, and even the room with its open-air shower were absolutely breathtaking. The common areas of the hotel: garden restaurant was well mentained and cleann
We encountered an issue with the bed sheets, as they were stained and we had to request a change. The towels were not in the best condition either, although at least they were not stained. Additionally, there is a mosque nearby where ceremonies take place throughout the day and night, which can be quite noisy

Verified reviewThere is no bidet shower in the toilet. That’s minus 3 points. Even lower-tier hotels have a bidet shower, and it costs next to nothing.

Verified reviewTranquility. View of Mt Agung. Comfortable villa and delicious food.
Wasn’t easy to get a driver for a quick trip around the area. Had to have driver for 5 hour rate- even if we only wanted a 2 hour drive. Nothing much within walking distance.

Verified reviewThe (small) resort was stunning: from the meticulous gardens, the wonderful restaurant, the spacious villas and fabulous infinity pools. Staff are some of the most professional we’ve seen in Bali. The views are right from a postcard. As we had been to Bali many times, the location in (unspoiled) East Bali was perfect to explore this beautiful and often overlooked part of the island.
Only downside is that the transport company they work with has somewhat outdated cars.

Verified reviewBeautiful location in east Bali. The view at the accommodation and pools were great.
The accommodation is quite isolated. Good for rest, only difficult to have dinner else than the hotel restaurant. The food was good, however the prices were quite steep relative to other places in Bali. The staff is friendly but really curious about every step you take. It feels like you be watched. Nevertheless, good place to take rest and enjoy the east part of Bali

Verified reviewStunning views – perfect for those looking to capture Instagram-worthy photos. • Friendly and talkative staff who were always eager to assist. • Spacious grounds with outdoor activities like badminton available. • Located in a peaceful part of Bali, with many sightseeing spots nearby. • Delicious food at the on-site restaurant with reasonable prices. We spent around €250 on dinner for two people over five nights – a great value for the quality. The restaurant was truly outstanding and deserves special mention.
There were a lot of ants, especially in and around the room. • Our toilet door was poorly installed and could only be opened with considerable force. It even scratched the floor. Surprisingly, staff treated it as normal – which seemed like an odd attitude for a hotel of this level. • Staff were often overly attentive, constantly approaching us for conversation. At times, this made it difficult to relax and unwind. • Nightly prayers were very loud and clearly audible from the rooms. After five nights, we didn’t have a single restful sleep. • During our entire stay, the bed linen was not changed even once. In this climate, it would be reasonable to expect a change every 2–3 days. • The gym is very basic – it could really benefit from at least a yoga mat and a heavier dumbbell or two.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your detailed and sincere feedback. We greatly appreciate that you have shared both the positive aspects and the points of attention with us. We would also like to thank you for your kind words about your experience in our restaurant. We would like to take this opportunity to address your comment regarding the nightly prayers: during your stay, special annual Islamic holidays were taking place, which resulted in additional prayer moments over the course of two days. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

Verified reviewThe hotel is super nice and situated in a beautiful location. I really enjoyed the quiet and relaxing neighborhood, after a few days in Ubud it was very welcomed change of a pace. The room was spacious, nicely furnished and had a backyard with a hammock (perfect to read a book in the evenings or watch the sky). The staff was very friendly and helpful, one day we wanted to rent a scooter and it was organized for us quickly and with no issues. The view from the pool in the adults-only area is absolutely stunning: you can see the mountain and the rice fields (it's were the King Suites are). Wonderful place to stay in Karangasem!
I really enjoyed sitting in the breakfast area, nonetheless I found the breakfast itself a bit small and blunt for my taste, although I have to admit that the presentation was fantastic and I really liked the oatmeal pancakes so I recommend to try those.

Thank you all so much! The food at the restaurant is delicious. The breakfast is soooo good. Everything is clean and comfortable. You can feel the love in every detail of this hotel. If I will stay in this area of Bali again, I will stay here ❤️

In such a beautiful tranquil location, we found music in the pool area unnecessary and it spoiled what should have been a relaxing experience

Verified reviewAn Unforgettable Stay at the Best Boutique Hotel in Bali From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The warmest, kindest people welcomed us—just when I thought Changu had the friendliest locals, this place proved me wrong tenfold. The hotel is set in breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful nature, offering complete serenity. The property is vast, quiet, and incredibly well-maintained. The service? Beyond exceptional—every detail was flawless. We enjoyed playing badminton, relaxing in two stunning infinity pools, both overlooking Bali’s highest mountain and sacred volcano, Mount Agung. The view was simply surreal. And to top it all off, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay. If you’re looking for a true paradise in Bali, this is it.
I like absolutely everything

Verified reviewit feels like an oasis in the middle of nature. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the restaurant is great. A good basis to explore the east of the island.
It is a bit isolated and to move anywhere you need to organize a transfer ( very easy to setup though). The villa is amazing but the bedroom could me cosier.
