Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe breakfast was good, however the menu for lunch and dinner was a little less exciting. It was also a taxi ride away from the main Tulamben shopping district.
We stayed at this resort due to inhouse scuba diving with was excellent. We had a great dive guide who found lots of great underwater creatures for us to photograph. The room was as described and had ocean views.

New ZealandFood was limited and location meant you didn’t have a lot of options.
Rooms were lovely, and staff were super lovely. The dive team Miikka, Sam and Emily were amazingly accommodating and supportive. We went to do our dive course and they made it super chilled and fun experience.

United Arab EmiratesGreat little resort, we went diving with them as well and had a fantastic time. Pool area is lovely and beach front too. Breakfast was a good selection and really yummy. The restaurant food was also fantastic. It’s a quiet area which is nice for peace and quiet. Rooms are large, shower heads maybe need checking as they spray in random Directions and our friends only seemed to come out in 3 streams of water, but that didn’t bother us.

United StatesThe beach is rocky, but that's the price to pay for excellent diving so close where the coral can attach and grow.
Excellent resort, outstanding service, and friendly staff. The location was beautiful, with many easily accessible dive sites minutes from the resort. The food at the restaurant was consistently tasty with a nice mix of Balinese and Western food, but don't expect gourmet. The spa was also excellent and affordable, with a variety of services that were easily scheduled. We appreciated our dive master Yad, who was hard working, knowledgeable, and patient with our group. I highly recommend this resort for a memorable diving and spa experience.

TaiwanWe were there for ten days - longer than most I think! It would be nice if the restaurant had one special on the menu that changed daily, to offer something different. We would have liked a gym too but I appreciate not many people prioritise that when on holiday.
It is a lovely hotel situated right by the black sand beach. It has a very nice garden and pool and the restaurant is right next to the pool and beach. The room was spacious and comfortable. The area is very quiet so it's relaxed. Breakfast was very good with fruit and then a choice of sweet or savoury options and nice, strong Bali coffee. There is quite a full menu for lunch and dinner too with fresh salads and fish. The staff are all very friendly. My husband did a lot of diving and can highly recommend the dive center. The staff are all very professional and helpful. He had the same dive guide for most dives and he felt he could take as long as he liked photographing whatever he wanted. For Macro diving: nudibranches, shrimp etc it is excellent in that area. I walked along the beach most days, which is pleasant at low tide but a little tricky at high tide as there is not beach left! I also went walking/running up a small road behind the hotel and found a little trail which offers a great view of Mount Agung. It was easy to get a car to take us to Ahmed if we wanted a different restaurant or to do a half-day or day tour to Mount Batur or one of the nearby temples.

SwitzerlandDive sites around here are SO commercialized, had I known that, would have rather stayed few extra days in Pemuteran or go to Penida instead. Also DM was't too invested. We had 2 rather short dives.
Most comfortable beds on our 3.5wk trip! Loved them! Great pool, very peaceful. Rooms and complex very clean. Dive shop is attached to it, so it is easy to go diving here. Kind staff, good restaurant.

MalaysiaThe pillow was too soft and flat for me. I prefer a higher and slightly firmer pillow, but since diving was so exhausting, I still slept quite well. Other than that I regret that vacation time is limited and I can't stay longer.
The food here is a bit Western, especially for us Asians. It's lacking spiciness and deep flavors, but it's still tasty. The pool is large and comfortable, especially the small pool outside the Japan villa accommodation. In the afternoon, around noon, the pool is shaded from direct sunlight, so it stays cool. However, with such a beautiful sea, as a scuba diver, I'd rather jump into the ocean to get wet. The breakfast offers a few options, mostly Western-style and delicious, but after staying for many days, it gets a bit repetitive. I do miss Asian-style breakfasts.

AustraliaRestaurant staff - like not joking 13 people I counted - 4-5 behind bar, the rest in the kitchen and around were just standing, staring at us. So you are sitting down, want a glass of water, which they could have brought, but instead they keep staring and you have to call them. They look annoyed :) They bring water. Then they bring two food platters, but there is 3 of you. They charge for large beer but bring small. You order food, they don't bring it,... but we were one family amongst line 6 guests total for a resort with capacity of probably 80 ppl! Also, too much resort maintenance. Constantly when you want to enjoy the pool there was someone maintaining pool, watering grass that was greener that Heineken bottle cutting grass, just absolutely overstaffed probably creating jobs.
The resort design was nice overlooking the volcano and the see. The excessive hotel staff were friendly and massages were great.
