How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClean, natural structure. If you want to relax after days of traveling, it's the perfect location. Thanks to the staff who welcomed us (sorry, I don't remember the guy's name). He gave us a lot of useful information and made us feel very good.
Other staff members were making noise until late at night, making it difficult for us to sleep.

Verified reviewVery nice staff! they played football with the kids. Local people came also by . They had two cute bunnies to play with. Views are great . Very peaceful place. Bungalows are basic, but fine.
It is a little far from restaurants and other facilities. You need your own transport or a driver to get you places.

Verified reviewComfortable stay and pretty accommodations, owner brought us dinner and breakfast to the room. Beautiful area.
There was a party going on with very loud music and karaoke until late, and then started again at 8am. We wish we could have enjoyed it but we were using this place as a resting point after Rinjani so we left this place pretty tired.

Verified reviewThe staff was extremely friendly and helpful, addressing all our requests immediately. Scooters were available for rent on the property. The breakfast was nice, and they even accommodated my special dietary needs. The location is beautiful, with a spacious yard and a well-maintained garden. Plus, the view of Mount Rinjani is excellent.
The bungalows are very simple by European standards; however, they are perfect for a basic stay.

Verified reviewWe booked quite late and they were able to accommodate us with a smile, the young man from Mataram was a legend, providing assistance via whatsapp for our dinner (which was delivered to the room) and breakfast (which was served quite early). We were provided free drinking water, the bed was comfortable and the view of Rinjani in the morning is amazing.
It is a shame the hot water only lasts for 15L, and it has a trick to have pressure, one of us had to shower in freezing cold water, which was not ideal, but they were responsive and changed us room before the second had to shower cold as well.

Verified reviewAll of the staff were really friendly and lovely. It all made our stay special and amazing. Anyar, especially, was an absolute legend of a driver/host. Remote but get true feeling of rural Lombok. Commutable to viewpoints and beautiful waterfalls (Tiu Kelep, etc). New buildings are being built which look very nice!
Gets a little cold at night as near the mountains. Nothing wrong with it, just was a shock after warm Gili Islands! Hotter in day.

Verified reviewThe host was really friendly and gave us an agricultural tour on his land showing us his chillies, garlic and vanilla bean lands. This was so interesting as we also farm in SA. The location also feels farmy which we liked.

Verified reviewLet's start with the first of many lovely things about this place: the landscape. One could just sit here for hours and stare at the mountains. The family running the place is just as lovely as the surroundings. They are quite putting and live to chat. The head of the family is the village leader, so there is a lot of knowledge about the region and many contacts for sightseeing or telling up the mountains. The family will cook lovely meals for you. What I also find very important is that this place is Indonesian owned (by the family themselves). It's a bit further away from the western tourist crowd which is also a plus in my book.
It gets cold at night, especially when your body is used to the tropical heat. The family will provide extra blankets when asked, so be sure to ask. Warm water is not always available.

Verified reviewBeautiful view of rinjani from the bungalow. It was clean and with a nice porch. However there was many many bugs inside the room at night (small flies/mosquitos/moths). Bathroom and room well-equipped with coffee / tea maker, soap, etc. Great help from the on-site caretaker (his name is Muslim), he made a fire for us each night and helped us with food.
The owner offered us daily scooter rental which was very expensive (100k per day), which is double the price of scooter rentals elsewhere in Lombok. The breaks on the scooter didn’t work very well. The bungalows are located a bit far from the main town area so the option they give you for food is to have dinner on-site (cooked by the owner’s wife), however he didn’t tell us any price and on the last day we were met with quite a large (and seemingly arbitrary) bill for the two dinners. Again, charging double what those same food items would have cost in town. Overall they are nice people, but we did feel like we were seen as ATMs, and ended up paying way more for the extras (scooter and food) at the end of our stay than the cost our accommodation. So beware of that.
