Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaAll rooms are only accessible by steps thus are not suitable for those on wheelchairs. The family room that we've stayed in has very steep stairs to the room upstairs that we ended up sleeping on the big bed downstairs. There's no chair in the room and the bathroom floor can be chilly and minimum partition between the toilet and shower area may resulted in some water from.one area can spill into the other. It would be great to have toilet paper and toilet odouriser or perfume in the toilet - shower area. It's better to make own arrangement for anyone travelling without own car as it might be difficult to find good car and driver to go around Sembalun or to travel to other areas in Lombok. The focal suggested by Bale Aur does not seem to be focused or interested in arranging transportation.
The location. Is superb as it's facing beautiful mountains and just opposite of beautiful Teras Sawah and nearby tourists locations such as Kedai Sawah, Kebun Bunga, Bukit Selum etc by rental car. It's in front of main road but it's quite enough . The room have small seating area in front and there are nearby restaurant along the road within 5 - 10i minutes walk. The bathroom comes with water heater which is great for the mountainous area. The view from the bed with large floor to ceiling window is great though it can be hot during the day as the room is facing the sun during the day and there's no fan or aircond in the room.

FranceI've been there for the running race Rinjani 100. I had a very simple room with a double bed and a shower, nothing else, but it was enough for me. The bed was confortable, i had hot shower with water pressure. the overall room was clean, the view was amazing. Lombok is an muslim island so obviouly there are many mosque around, but here at the hotel, i didn't here any of them at 4AM in the morning. (dont get me wrong, i don't know if I was sleeping really well or if there was none around, but that place felt really quiet for me) I defo recommend

AustraliaEven though it is cool at night, a fan would be good. More power outlets would also be useful.
The view from here is absolutely majestic! The foothills of Rinjani mountain and surrounding strawberry fields.

DenmarkThe bathroom is basic without a sink - when staying on the second floor it is not ensuite. For hygiene purpose blankets should have covers. Due to structure of the building you will hear your neighbours plus the main line of traffic. It is amazingly picturesque location, but the noise pollution mainly because of competing speakers in an already echoing valley took away from otherwise breathtaking experience.
A gazillion dollar view - nothing beats it. Very warm and accommodating people. Fast communication via WhatsApp. Really good breakfast. Trecks and strawberry fields walks can be arranged with the owner.

RomaniaHowever, the facilities are quite basic. The A-frame cabins offer a unique experience, but you can hear everything from your neighbors below or above. If you stay upstairs, you'll enjoy a beautiful balcony with a breathtaking view, but be prepared for a mattress on the floor instead of a bed. The bathroom is also downstairs, which means you'll have to climb up and down each time you need it. Additionally, there's no sink in the bathroom. One thing to note is that you will hear the mosques several times a day, including during the night, so earplugs are a must for a good night's sleep. Overall, it's a charming place with a few quirks. If you’re looking for basic accommodation with stunning views and friendly hosts, this could be a good choice.
I recently stayed at an accommodation in Sembalun village, Lombok, and had a pleasant experience overall. The hosts were very nice and friendly, although they only knew basic English words, so communication was limited. They were extremely helpful, arranging a scooter rental for just 100 rupees per day and assisting with our transfer to Kuta at the end of our stay. The location is great, situated on the main road with an amazing view over the rice and vegetable plantations and mountains. Breakfast was delicious and included in the price, which was a nice touch.

United KingdomThe only minor improvements could be for the shower to be fixed so that it can be set to a medium temperature rather than scolding hot or freezing cold. Also, if there was a water bottle refill station instead of the plastic cups.
The accommodation was very comfy and gave fantastic views of the mountainous scenery from the top balcony. Although we didn't see the host, he was very attentive and helpful through WhatsApp and his family on site were very friendly. He helped to arrange a motorbike for us to rent on our first night to get into town. The bike was fine for short trips but we planned on a longer drive to Tiu Kelep waterfall the next day. I mentioned this to the host and they arranged for a better scooter to be delivered the next day for us to rent.

BelgiumThe bathroom was seperate when you have the room above with balcony. Because it was all in wood, little insects could crawl in.

Czech RepublicWe had a really pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered enough space for a relaxing few days. The hot water in the shower was very nice, though it's good to use it sparingly. The location is lovely – peaceful, with a nice view over the fields surrounded by mountains. The owner was kind and helpful, and made us feel welcome. Overall, a very good experience and we'd be happy to stay here again.

United KingdomIt is a little noisy next to the road and it's the culture to rise with the sun, so the noise starts early. Not a big deal if you have ear plugs though.

FranceIbnou is a caring host, available and always ready to help! He allowed us to find the perfect program in the region with a beautiful hike to see the sunrise on Mount Rinjani with one of his guides (Air, whom we thank again!), then a taxi to visit the waterfalls in the region. The accommodation is faithful to the photos, with a breathtaking view of the valley, the strawberry fields (which you can taste by asking Ibnou for advice) and the different mountains. Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights, stunning views!! The owners are so lovely, such a nice and welcoming family. It gets pretty cold at night and they lit a bonfire for us each night to keep us warm outside. They also let us check in early which was so helpful. They make a great nasi goreng and mie goreng as well as coffee and hot chocolate. The bathroom was basic but clean. Even had hot water which is a first in Lombok! The room was very clean. I really can’t fault the place at all. We also did a sunrise hike that the home stay organised for us for a good price, definitely recommend doing it, incredible views!
