Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLocation require hiring of car/taxi so keep in mind. It is about 40 minutes from Ubud with no traffic.
So impressed with Bagus Jati, truly an oasis of peace and tranquility surrounded by beautiful nature. Highlights included the amount of activities offered, I did the purification ritual which felt very authentic and was truly an exceptional experience. I also did the cooking lesson which was very fun and ended with a delicious meal. There is a lot more offered for all kinds of interests from cycling, trekking, temple tours, etc. A special shout out to the staff is needed as they are all so friendly and welcoming! Definitely recommend this place to nature lover seeking a calm escape from the hustle and bustle.

United KingdomSadly the buffet breakfast wasn’t nice.
Beautiful resort, big bedroom with lovely view, friendly staff. There is a free shuttle car that can take you to Ubud twice a day I think it takes around 40 mins.

AustraliaNothing could have been better about our holiday at Bagus Jati, everything was wonderful!
Bagus Jati is set in beautiful natural surroundings with kind and friendly staff who went above and beyond. It is truly the place to go if you want to relax and unwind! The restaurant serves delicious food with vegetables grown in the resort's organic garden. The staff at the spa are lovely, and we had some beautifully relaxing massages. We also did the best yoga and meditation classes we have ever had with Buda and Gusti, 2 very experienced and knowledgeable teachers. The activities put on by the resort include learning Indonesian, making Canang and receiving a blessing, making Jamu and a nature walk. All of these were really interesting and it was great to learn more about Balinese culture from local people. We also went on a bike tour around the local villages and took a cooking class which we highly recommend - it's so lovely to know how to recreate the delicious restaurant food now that we are home again! Thank you so much to all the staff at Bagus Jati for making our holiday so wonderful and relaxing. It was truly unforgettable and we can't rate you highly enough!

GermanyThe resort can do with some maintenance and fine touches (like thicker toilet paper, nicer handsoaps, proper yoga mats) to exude true luxury.
Tranquil and peaceful with lots of space for everyone. Loved the morning yoga classes and other activities offered. The yoga shala is gorgeous! The staff are lovely and attentive, they address us by name and made a special effort to ensure that we were pleased with our meals etc.

SingaporePrepare for mosquitos, and other insects/nature to be in your room! Wifi in common areas is decent, but slightly patchy in rooms. But all this is to be expected for such a peaceful secluded location.
A tranquil getaway in nature, with a culturally and spiritually rich atmosphere. Breathtaking scenery, gorgeous facilities and thoughtful design (the resort is built around an ancient temple). Fresh, nourishing meals every day. Wonderful on-site activities inclusive of your stay; yoga, meditation, walking tour of the farm and village etc.. The staff was warm, attentive and very knowledgable and insightful into Balinese culture and history. They went above and beyond to make my stay extra special! Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends :)

SwitzerlandThe only thing was that nobody pointed put that there was a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi one could use. Even when specifically asking about the steam room, I didn’t get a clear answer (probably due to language barrier). I only found out where it was on the last day. The other issue was that there were many mosquitos in the chalet. The villa is definitely better in this regard.
This is the perfect place to relax in nature and at the same time have the chance to do activities. Everything was perfect, the staff was so nice, the food was good and the pool amazing. I also enjoyed the various spa treatments they offered. I especially liked this place as a solo traveler and also met some nice people.

United KingdomNot so much the location but we hadn’t considered the damp, you’re in the jungle and near the river so everything gets very damp, even walking up in the mornings your bedding feels damp, that said, I would go back here without a second thought.
The most beautiful location, the sound of the jungle was just magical, you could literally just sit and look at it all day, nature at its best ❤️

IndiaEverything about the resort is exceptional! The location, the villas, the people and staff, the food and the spa. It was a truly relaxing experience in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely visit again. Although it's a bit expensive - I don't mind paying for the kind of service and facilities and the experience that we get. Don't miss out on the free daily activities - like morning yoga, canang making, free afternoon tea by the pool side along with the chit-chat with yoga masters Buddha and Gusti. Do try out the jacuzzi and the sauna at the spa - it's free as well. Also recommend to try the sejati massage at the spa. Highly recommended!

ItalyNothing but bear in mind that you are remotely located so you go there for total relaxation and disconnection. Going to Ubud city is possible and I did it often but it takes time.
Everything, possibly the most incredible place I have ever stayed at. It seems another worlds, in the midst of the jungle. Rooms, restaurants, surroundings, gardens, spa, yoga room, pool, everything out of this world.

AustriaWe got free upgrade, but the bathroom was a bit older in the cottage we got. Everything worked well, so it was still ok for us.
The place is magical. We booked 2 nights to relax and we did! Walking through the gardens, sunbathing by the pool, and having a massage was so wonderful and good for our souls. We had an amazing view from our cottage and enjoyed the very good food in the restaurant. All of the staff were extremely nice. The joga teacher did a challenging but manageable session for us. We would recommend staying 3 nights here to fully enjoy the place and make use of all it has to offer.

CanadaThe book in our room with information about the property did NOT include info regarding shuttle service. Because of this the first days we were exhausted climbing up the hills including 50 steps from our Chalet to the road. Other people that we met at breakfast told us about the shuttle service. I think when we arrived we should have been told about the various services offered. We mentioned this to the person at the front desk when we checked out & hope the info in the room was updated.
Location & breakfast were wonderful. Staff couldn't have been more helpful & polite.

AustraliaThe gym is not good, it is old and dirty and there is no ventilation or air conditioning. Also, they provide a schedule of activities when we arrive but it changes a lot and things get cancelled so you have to confirm the schedule with them all the time. They should give us the updated daily schedule every morning, this way it would be easier to know whats is actually happening.
The place is amazing! So so beautiful it looks like paradise. It is very var from the Ubud center but they provide transportation if you need to. The rooms are so fancy and the bed is really comfortable. I loved doing the free activities during the day like the nature walk, yoga and making Canang.
