Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilOne night that had heavy rain I had water falling on my bed, the next day I told Ayu and she ask her husband and son to have a look and apparently they fixed the problem. It didn’t rain anymore so I didn’t have problems again. The room could also have toilet paper and during the day can get hot inside. Overall for the cost I would highly recommend!!
Ayu was an amazing host! She and all her family did their best to help me with everything I needed. She even borrowed me her clothes for me to participate in an traditional ceremony when I was there! Amazing experience! The location is also very good, you are in a main area but it is also very quiet and you can enjoy the silence.

United KingdomThere was often noise outside my room, there is a dog that barks a lot and when leaving at 3am one morning to go to Mount batur it bit me, luckily I had trousers on but I didn’t feel safe going past it (which you must) from this point.
Lovely owner, fantastic location and great price.

United KingdomThe bath should be cleaned
The room is cosy, you can see the temple from the balcony, there is a window in the bathroom and room, which gives fresh air and wind, and the fan is no need to turn on. Breakfast is rich in fruits and Balinese pies. The location is perfect, home in the city centre but without street noise.

SwedenRooms are a bit small and not so clean unfortunately. Same goes for the bathroom. I think the bathtub hasn't been scrubbed for some time. A bit noisy surroundings and things going on early morning right outside the rooms that woke me up a few times.
Sweetest owners and very nice breakfast that you can enjoy just outside your room where you have chairs and a small table. Location is perfect with s nice temple garden. Bed was good.

IndonesiaLighting is enough but can be placed more. But this is just a personal preference. No dedicated parking space for car.
Close to the center. Free breakfast and clean bathroom . Great hospitality also. Wifi is fast. Value/price ratio is great exceeded my expectation, will visit again 😁

AustriaThe walls are not fully connected to the roof, which means air can go through - good for the heat but bad for mosquitos. There is a fabric around the bed, but it's not a mosquito net, it has holes and you can't use it if you want to feel the fan. There is basic service. Don't expect anything, but ask for everything you need and they will help you. Don't expect it to be very clean. Also i had problems with the bottle they used for the hot water for breakfast. It was smelling very bad after a while. Undrinkable.
I had the room on the second floor with balcony. It's quite big and has a high ceiling which gives a very nice atmosphere.

IndonesiaDon't bring in food or sweets inside the room to avoid visits from ants, mosquitoes, and their insect friends. The tic-tac noise from the water pump is a bit distracting at night.
Strategic location, right in the middle of the Ubud Center, reachable by public transport (Teman Bus) that connects you to many destinations such as Denpasar, Kuta, Sanur, Tabanan, etc. Room is clean, not too big, but comfortable for me as a single traveler. The small lush garden across the room makes it better. There's hot water as well. Worth the price. Some people mentioned about there are holes both in the room and bathroom, but I find them necessary because the room doesn't have AC so it keeps the air circulation well. It keeps the bathroom dry, which is important for me. My best highlights are the sweet host family and their dog, Panda. My stay in Ubud wouldn't be this memorable without them.

Germany- the walls are not closed, so there is a little gap between the roof and the walls. Therefore, the roosters were a little loud sometimes and some ants came in, but it was definitely okay for the jungle like feeling we had.
-The owner and her family were really kind and attentive. -The room is located in an inner yard, where also the famaly lives. Everything is full of plants and by that had a really junge like vibe inside of Ubud. -The location is ideal. 8 min walk to ubud palace , 8 min walk to a good atm (Maybank). -It had a balkony where we got our breakfast. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruits and coffee/tea. Besides, every morning we got different kind of stuff like filled pancakes, scrambled egg or pastry. (we saw that another couple which got Asian style breakfast, so I think you can also ask for that)
