How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewReally cute bungalows, just what I needed before my Komodo sailing trip. The people who own it are lovely too, I had a lovely chat with the gentleman who owns it and his wife made the best beef redang I've had in my life !! I think it's really important to support families running their own business and I'd advise anybody who needs Robbie near the port to stay here

Verified reviewThe bungalows were overall nice, the AC worked ok, the beds were comfortable.
There was nobody in the hotel to reach out if something was needed. No reception, no number, nothing. When we tried to get the wifi password, we approached the owner house and start trying to call someone. Then the owner comes to us angry and saying that we didn’t have patience. He was really rude to us. The showers didn’t worked, we had to get showered from the sink. The wifi was not working. There was no soap or toilet paper in the room. Worst experience in a hotel.
That's not entirely true and you that. We were praying and you kept on yelling at us. Afterwards I tried to explain to you, but didn't care at rude; that is rude young lady. The shower works alright, but in the dry season with all hotel rooms in the area full, water pressure is often low between 07:00 - 18:00, which might influence the water heater. The wifi is fast enough, even in rooms in the back of the garden. A small bottle of liquid soap was on a shelf next to the sink and you could have asked for a new toilet roll at one of the staff. Next time you feel the need to write an awful comment on a small family hotel, just try to discuss your doubts with the management in a polite way instead of writing a review containing accusations and lies.

Verified reviewWhat a lovely homestay - we stayed for one night post Rinjani trek. The room was spacious. Shower had plenty of hot water. Wifi worked well. The property has a couple of very cute cats who are super sociable and playful, which was an added treat! The owners are so friendly! I had a great chat with the husband, wife and their lovely daughter. They were all incredibly warm. Fabulous value!

Verified reviewThis hotel is a 10 minute walk from the ferry pier which is a great location. The family that own this hotel are lovely and love to chat with guests and do all they can to help. The facilities are brilliant, they have outdoor shower to rinse off dirt/sand, laundry service (genuinely the best laundry service we've had the whole of Asia, press folded and best price too), they have a company who supplies mopeds who arrive in minutes who we got a great deal off. We didn't use the restaurant but it does have food available too. The room we were in was spacious and clean, the bed was okay. And they have a powerful fan in the room which we like too. There wasn't a lot of road noise at night time too.
The aircon in the room needs looking at as it isn't very cold at all, it does have a strong fan in the room but we also like a cold aircon. Apart from that we couldn't recommend this place enough and when we come back to Lombok we will definitely be staying here again, thank you so much for the stay.

Verified reviewWe booked a couple of nights here but unfortunately my friends got ill so instead we ended up booking a villa so my friends could relax around the pool all together to recover from sickness. So unfortunately we ended up leaving so we cannot really comment much on the stay except the owners are lovely people and we wish them the best
