Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe bathroom could do with a thorough bleach wash, as do most hotels of this category in Bali. The sheets were clean but stained, the blanket was also clean but in tatters. The pillow cases were clean, but the pillows themselves were black and smelly because of mould. They were also cracked open, and the foam would obviously slide out. The cushions on the terrace are also very dirty. So are the taps of the yet very useful hot and cold water dispenser. It is such a shame these bungalows are so rundown and not washed or cleaned properly because the location is fantastic and the staff is very kind and helpful. It was my second stay there in 3 months. I was lucky to have hot water this time round, but you constantly have to open and close the tap to avoid burning yourself. Finally, Arjana Bungalows is not rated as a basic down the road, rural Lesehan category but as bungalows. The old, cracked cups could be changed, too.
Great location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, very nice pool. Thank you very much, Wayan and team, for the amazing breakfasts and all your help.

FranceSheets were clean, but the sink and toilet and shower could do with a good bleach scrub, like any other place of that price range in Bali. We rented 2 bungalows. Getting hot water was mission impossible. It was either too hot to shower with, or the boiler wouldn't turn itself on. Despite a couple of requests and fake attempts to sort things out, hot showers were not an option in either bungalow.
Quiet place away from the crowds and noise of Ubud city centre. Very nice pool. Lovely, helpful staff who endeavour to do their best, but they're not the decision makers. Lovely garden, delicious breakfast. Thank you Wayan for those great pancakes and appetising fruit mix plates!

United StatesThe shower wasn’t high enough for our token talk person, but they survived.
It’s near the trailhead for Kajeng Rice trail, a 10 minute walk from the palace area and Monkey Forest road (aka madness). Super quiet with great, inexpensive warungs and restaurants nearby.

United Arab EmiratesIt's a beautiful enormous garden at the start of a rice field walk, with lots of shade and hidden bungalows, far from traffic and noise, with a huge underused pool. There's an area near the pool where you can sit and write the next novel or whatever. It's 15 minutes' walk down to the center of town. The bungalows are generously sized. Plenty of water. Staff are extremely laid back. Maintenance could be a lot better, but given the peace and quiet, the greenery, and the privacy, it may be just be right up your street.

United KingdomThe only issue I had was that the wifi wasn’t very strong in my bungalow but it was fine in other areas so not a big deal.
This property is tucked away so is really peaceful but has so much within walking distance. The staff are so lovely and make an excellent breakfast in the morning. They went above and beyond to help me when my airport taxi was late. There was space for me to work remotely which was great.

United KingdomNot enough hot water for a bath, could do with a deeper clean in areas as my feet were often made dirty when walking on the floor and the bedding (pillows) need to be updates as are very old.
AMAZING value for money! GREAT location!! The pool was always clean and always had the area to myself as it was rarely used. Hot and chilled water dispenser, patio and garden area all private for myself. Use of their kitchen means I could prepare meals myself. Bath. Fridge. Good toilet washer facility. Room tidied daily.Great value for money. Would come again.

AustraliaThe staff were friendly but few in number, so sometimes hard to find. The mattress was firm and the springs could be felt underneath me, especially as I'm a side sleeper. The wifi kept dropping out, it seemed to work ok in the breaky area, but not in my room. The location was great and very central so you can walk to all the main tourist spots, but the entrance is on a very narrow road with market stalls along both sides. It's not possible for car access which makes transporting luggage difficult. Bike acces is perfect, but if you have a suitcase, you need to walk it in, which can be hard going in the heat of the day, or late at night in the dark.
This place was well located in the centre of busy Ubud, just down from the Palace.... but somehow was also really peaceful and quiet. It was only a short walk to the popular Campuhan Ridge walk in one direction and the new market area in the other. Good value for money, spacious and clean bungalows, simple but tasty breakfast, fridge in the room, had a ceiling fan but no air conditioner, hot and cold filtered water always available, and a large pool that I seemed to have all to myself each day.
