Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe shower was unhygienic because it had stones and stagnant water from which many worms came out.
Perfect location, the treatment of the people incredible as they helped us in everything, very good breakfast, hot water and perfect air conditioning, also very good views from the terrace to the garden of the property.

GreeceI think it wasn't the best room of the Guest house as it isolated with any view not even to the garden or the swimming pool. After exploring around the place I found out there were really nice rooms though. It was very noisy during the early morning hours and I could only sleep using my earplugs as my room was located next to their laundry, the kitchen and the owners house who wake up very early. Another room might have been a better option. The bed mattress was very soft and not comfy to me that I have a back-pain issue.
The Guest house was decent and met my expectations. The room and the bathroom were both clean. They take care of the cleanliness well and they provide clean and fresh towels that smell nice. The breakfast was very good and homemade. All the people were very polite.

RomaniaCleanliness in the rooms is not great, avoid the wooden rooms by the pool there’s a damp smell and cleanliness is worse. Communication was a bit difficult at times, found it difficult to arrange breakfast (gluten allergy). Day before checkout I decided to stay an extra night to do mt batur tour, my room wasn’t available anymore but I got a different room which was absolutely fine however on day of checkout/changing rooms even though checkout is at 12, from 10:30am I kept getting asked if I’m checking out, I confirmed that we discussed I’d change room for an additional night and that was ok so I was having my breakfast and again at 11am they came to check if they could take the plate when I was still eating, then at 11:45am they came again to see if I’m ready to leave. I was in the middle of putting my contacts in and they just stood by the door. I felt bad so I quickly grabbed everything to move to the other room. I wouldn’t have minded changing rooms earlier if i was asked but wasn’t told anything so assumed I had the morning to repack everything and sort some stuff out. In the rush I forgot my charger & adapter in the old room, which was picked up by the cleaning crew but nothing mentioned to me about it all day even though I was around the pool and they said hello as they came by. I realised later in the day that I forgot it and asked about it but it was too late in the evening which understandably got no response. As I was leaving at 2am, I spotted it on one of the tables close to kitchen area so thankfully panic was over (only adapter I had and was heading to a remote area). It would have been nice to be told about it by the staff when it was found, would have avoided my panic and 50% battery heading to hike an active volcano. Also when paying for the additional night, I paid for a bottle of water I got as well and even though price shown was 8k, I was asked for 10k.
Privacy and location of property are perfect for a solo traveller. Rooms are a great size and comfortable.

NorwayThe first room on the ground floor had a moldy smell and was quite dark. Recommend texting them to ask if they have 2nd floor rooms available before booking.
Good value for money homestay. The garden area is lovely. We initially checked in to a room downstairs by the pool, but got transferred to a room upstairs upon request, as someone had canceled. The room upstairs was much nicer. Amazing view over the pool area and great sunsets. The pool is not huge but clean and comfortable. Location is very central with only a 5-6 minute walk from the Ubud main street. There is no noise to be heard from the room, and the rooms seem to have good sound isolation as well. The included breakfast is good and consists of your typical homestay breakfast - scrambled eggs/pancakes etc. plus tea or coffee and fruit, or fried rice/noodles if ordered the day before. They deliver it to your room. The family living on the premises are super helpful and nice, and offer lots of services including scooter rental, day trips and transport service. In our experience, the transport we booked through them (Ubud -> Pandag Bai) was cheaper than booking through Grab, and it's nice to support the locals. Would come back and stay here again!

SpainOnly one member of the family running the business is able to speak English. Despite the language barrier, you can tell they are lovely. Cleaning of bathrooms can be improved. Mosquito net had a hole i fixed with tape. Bed makes loud noises when you move.
This garden is a peaceful oasis in the heart of noisy Ubud. Great swimming pool. Breakfast is delivered to your room and it is amazing in quantity and quality. Room is spacious.

United KingdomBathroom could be smelly at times (although this isn’t uncommon in Bali). The Wi-Fi was good 75% of the time but did cut out a few times.
Very large room which was cleaned every day. Great location in Ubud - far enough out that it isn’t noisy, but still only a 5 minute walk to the main centre. The hosts were lovely and helped us to book our Mount Batur sunrise trek as well as our taxi onto our next destination, both for reasonable prices. Breakfast was included and was freshly made and nice.

United KingdomGoogle maps says this is a one-way road, so a cab may be looking to take you the long way round, but it’s not a long walk from the main road if you want to get dropped off/picked up from there. The room/building we stayed in was really cute but you could hear everything going on outside and you needed to keep the curtains drawn for privacy as people were always walking by or their room faced our window. There was also some construction going on very nearby that always started at 8am with loud banging. The pebbles in the bottom of the shower looked cute but were a bit impractical to stand on (and I wasn’t thinking about how/if they cleaned under there…) The pool was also really nice but there were no “house rules” as to open/closing times and one night we were woken at 4am by a group splashing about out there.
Really cute little place on a side road from Ubud’s main thoroughfare. There are so many great restaurants nearby and a temple and silver-making class on the same street. The lady who appeared to run the place was nice and only tried to interest us in tickets to a fire show the first two days of our stay before giving up. The breakfast was nice and the other young staff who worked there were all sweet, inc the kids who were always about. The AC worked well and the bed was comfy. We didn’t even need the mosquito net, but it looked nice.
