How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewThe location is great. Just a 10-minute walk from Lovina Beach. There are plenty of nice restaurants and cafes nearby. Playing dominoes with Kadek is hilarious. You can book everything directly with him. The trip to see the dolphins, the scooter, ... And a little cheaper than on the beach. If you are looking for a nice stay to go see the dolphins, don't hesitate.

Verified reviewI stayed here with two friends and we absolutely loved our time at Apollo Hostel. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations — especially for the price, which is honestly unbeatable in Lovina. The vibe is amazing: super relaxed, welcoming, and friendly. The staff made us feel at home from day one and were always happy to help with anything we needed. The dorms were clean and comfy, with good A/C, and the common areas were perfect for meeting other travellers or just chilling after a long day. The location is great too — just a short walk to the beach, dolphin tours, and local warungs. We also appreciated the little details like the free tea and coffee, the clean bathrooms, and the cozy atmosphere. If you’re travelling on a budget but still want to feel comfortable and connected, this place is a gem. We only stayed a couple of nights but honestly, we could have stayed way longer. Highly recommend!

It was not the cleanest stay I would say, but if you are on a budget and just visiting for a short period, I would recommend.

Verified reviewStaffs was welcoming, good. I book dolphine in lovina, luckily it's happened. I mean after read reviews some people might not get that. A bit worry if wasn't never happen coz i went to lovina to see the dolphine.
Somebody stole my ATM card and use it to pay something in confinient store (i got notification). Luckily it was failed because didn't activate contactless yet. It would be great if the room clean and not musty odor because of no air circulation.
sorry for what has been happened to your credit card. You should lock your door. becouse that time was many guest stayed in hostel. We trying to clean better the room nex time for our nex guest.

Verified reviewThere is airconditioning now!! The host is very kind and is prepared to do anything for his guests. He took me to a beautiful waterfall and hot spring. He's very patient and funny too! We played a lot of games, and please if you can beat him at dominoes it would also be a victory for me (I lost a lot haha) It's kind of primitive, which I actually liked! But you still have everything you need. And ask if you can do the scuba diving day trip! It is totally worth it!!
The hostel isn't very hygienic, so definitely wear slippers or bathroom shoes if you need to! The beds were a bit thin and the ladder to the top bunk were a bit broken. I also went on the dolphin trip, but I think it was unethical. The dolphins were being chased by all the little boat and almost had no space to take a breath. I don't recommend it if you love animals. But it was still very cool to see them!

Verified reviewReally dirty, bad atmosphere, we had a really bad feeling from this so we could not even stay one night. Also there was a bug in my bed so this Is the main reason why we left and did not stay.
sorry about the bedsbugg... we already put some poissen on it for the guest. you lied when you don't stay in our hostel. we saw left but you came back again left the hostel at around 8.00 am and came back again around 12.00. you should stay 5 stars hotel nextime not stay in 50 k hostel.

Verified reviewA fantastic price, the double bed room was fairly clean and quite nice. The beds were simple but good value for money. There’s a nice view out the back of the property.
Cockroaches and bugs in the shared bathroom, shower was not very appealing. Owned was somewhat welcoming but a little aggressive when you don’t book his activities. The lockers were small and won’t really fit a bag 35L+. Very hot at night in the rooms even with a fan. Pool looked dirty

Verified reviewI really recommend to go to Kadek hostel. He is a big heart men, welcoming and caring. It's nice to have him around to plan activities ! It's not luxury of course but you will feel home there :)
