The staff were really accommodating and friendly. The location is perfect as a base to explore Batukaru and the hotel, surrounded with jungle and lush green spaces, is a perfect escape from the busier sides of Bali. We loved it there!

Location and structure of buildings were lovely and well thought out once but sadly not maintained. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Staff are sweet. Breakfast was nice. Pool was nice also.

Needs a lot of love…. There was no WiFi as routers are exposed to rain on the roof. Food was from the freezer and poor at best. Pak Budi seems to run all areas of service he tries his best. It was cold at night and this was not catered for either. Great place run badly.

    Property response:

Dear Justine, Thank you for sharing your experience and for highlighting the comfort of our villas, the beauty of the surroundings, our staff, and breakfast. We’d like to clarify a few points raised. Being located in the mountains near Batukaru, the weather can occasionally affect WiFi stability, though we continue to improve our systems to minimize disruption. Regarding food, we always store items properly and prepare everything fresh; we regret that on this occasion it did not meet your personal expectations and have taken steps to further improve. As for the cool nights, the mountain climate is naturally colder compared to the coastal areas of Bali. Extra blankets are always available upon request, and we encourage guests to let us know so we can provide additional comfort right away. Your feedback is valuable and has been shared with our team. We remain committed to maintaining and enhancing the property, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for a better overall stay. Warm regards, Septian Dwi Alassari Sanctuary and Plantation

The staff were extremely helpful. Great massage from Rhea. Extensive property rainforest to walk through and very well maintained grounds.

The villa’s did not have ceilings and as it was windy, debris constantly blew in. Unreliable hot water in shower. Very little option to eat elsewhere. White linen rather grey and needs replacing. Whole place seemed to need direction.

    Property response:

Dear Vivien, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your stay with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our rainforest surroundings, well-maintained grounds, and that our staff – especially Rhea – made your experience memorable. We would also like to take this opportunity to clarify a few points: Villa Design: Our villas are indeed fully roofed, and the photos displayed online accurately represent their design. As we are located in a rainforest environment, some natural elements may occasionally find their way inside despite regular maintenance. Hot Water: We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the hot water. Our staff had addressed the situation during your stay, as hot water can sometimes take a little time to regenerate after extended use. Dining Options: While our guests often enjoy the convenience of in-villa dining, we understand the wish for alternatives. Although we are located in the rainforest near Mount Batukaru, there are still local restaurants and warungs nearby, and our team is happy to assist with recommendations Linen & General Feedback: We truly appreciate your comments regarding linen and the overall direction of our services. We are taking these observations seriously as part of our ongoing improvements. Most importantly, I would be very happy to connect with you personally to discuss your experience in more detail, as your insights are invaluable in helping us provide a better experience for our future guests. Thank you once again for your stay and your constructive feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with an even more enjoyable experience. Warm regards, Septian Dwi Alassari Sanctuary and Plantation

    Everything, the environment is beautiful.

Above the beds in the living room no mosquito net, although there were a lot of insects. So we ended up 3 in a two person bed. The 4th person had no choice and slept without.

    Property response:

Dear Sophie, Thank you so much for youir great review. Your apreciation of the nature in the rain forest. We usually only have one king size bed in your villa. Set in a beautiful garden close to the forest, with plenty of space.

The hotel is being sold and we really felt the disorganisation and lack of maintenance and lack of atmosphere. It was a bit sad to see no one really there and we didn’t have the best experience. There was a lot of confusion (don’t worry someone will take your bag to your room, we ended up taking it ourselves), the look of confusion when we asked how to walk in the local forest (we resorted to getting a guide from the next door eco lodge in the end) and vague pointing up the hill. Our room wasn’t that clean and it was sad to see all the garden paths were so hard to walk because of all the leaves and fruit that had fallen and not been swept away. This place just made me feel a bit empty, despite that we booked a wonderful treehouse and the hotel itself could be lovely with some life in it! I also don’t know why on booking.com it has 5 stars… it was very very far from this and the wonderful experiences we had in other hotels

    Property response:

Dear Olivia, I am sorry you did not enjoy your experience as Alassari Plantation. I spoke to you a couple of times and you seemed happy with everything. As you will see most of our reviews were 10 around the time of your stay. Regarding the trekking in the jungle I explained to you we had two cremation ceremonies on at that time so no body is allowed to go into the jungle. The guide who took you should know better as it very disrespectful to their culture. Best regards. Valarie Glenister

The location, the environment, the tranquility, the paths through the rainforest, the swing bridge, the balcony/terrace, the rooms, the beds, bedlinen and pillows, the breakfasts and the staff were wonderful.

There wasn't sufficient light in the rooms to read by. The internet barely functioned in the villas.

    Property response:

Dear Adena Thank you for your wonderful review. We are sorry unfortunately the wifi connection is not always good. We actually pay Rp5,550,000 per month for our wifi to get the maximum coverage. Enjoy the rest of your holiday in Bali. Best regards. Valarie Glenister

We had a wonderful time at Alassari Plantation. We came for our anniversary and wanted a peaceful, quiet, beautiful place away from everywhere. And that's what we got. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the pool and gardens and jungle walks around the property were so lovely. Sitting on our balcony, we were right up in the jungle. Our room, Villa Tiga was beautiful although quite dark but that was fine. We didn't realise it would be quite a bit cooler up in the mountains and hadn't packed accordingly but the staff happily supplied us with ponchos which kept us warm. Massages were great. Communication was a bit difficult at times and there were issues regarding what we thought we had planned for the day regarding tours etc but we are easy going holiday makers so we didn't let it bother us. Overall a very wonderful stay, it was hard to leave today.

Thank you for your fantastic review. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Alassari Plantation. Best Regards. Valarie Glenister
