Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaPrices of drinks and food were a bit high compared to other resorts and it needs more shaded seating around the pool areas.
The location was good,, we were able to walk to most places. Even though it was in a busy area, it was quiet. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast.

AustraliaStepping down into the bath to have a shower was not great but managed. We also had some mixed service from the pool bar. Some days we could pay cash, other days we couldn’t and had to charge to the room but had to put a deposit down first at reception, then next day they wouldn’t charge to room and had to pay cash. Got confusing really.

AustraliaBased on the value offering, it exceeds expectations .
Alam Kul Kul is directly opposite Legian beach. It is a more traditional and relaxed environment with friendly staff, a great buffet breakfast and at a very competitive cost. A short walk to all shopping and restaurants, especially the privately owned eateries that are not subject to high Govt taxes and service charges levied by hotels. Dayu Trisna & Pak Ketut will ensure you have a wonderful holiday in Bali.

AustraliaHousekeeping was a bit hit and miss this stay. They either forgot things which I had to follow up and day didn’t fix the room until quite late. But these were minor issues really.
Loved the pool areas and location. Room clean and spacious. Friendly staff. Shower good pressure and plenty of hot water. Buffet breakfast had a good variety

AustraliaIt was a fair walk to our room at the back, and up the stairs with our luggage, but the staff are there to help and there is a trolley, so all good really.
It's a lovely traditional Bali hotel and right across the road from the beach. The room was spacious, very clean and bottles of drinking water each day, secure parking for our motorbike as well. It felt like a little oasis in the middle of the main tourist area. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

AustraliaOur room was located at the back corner, bottom floor. Felt like a basement, very dark. The place was tired & in need of maintenance.
Centrally located, on the beach front. Clean. It had a lovely day spa. Staff were friendly.

AustraliaThe sun loungers were dirty and worn and some broken... not very many in the Garden Pool area. Our bed was a bit hard but we got used to it... the air conditioner was freezing if you like it cold.. we turned it off and just had the fan going.
Location of the hotel was excellent...directly across from the beach and walking distance to Bali Mall in one direction and Garlic Lane for restaurants and Bars... Lovely well kept old Balinese style gardens. The breakfast has a huge selection of Indonesian and western foods.. lots of fresh fruits and a great egg station... the poached eggs with benedict sauce were delicious... overall a good value for money hotel in Kuta/Legian area.

AustraliaThe F&B manager was very pushy trying to get everyone’s phone numbers. I definitely did not like it. The beds were very hard and the bathroom towels need to be updated as they are very old and grey.
The location was great. The pools were good, room attendants were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was great had a great choice.

AustraliaI did not like the way the cleaning staff neglected the cleaning of my Java Villa. My villa was not cleaned on the first day and was not cleaned again on the second day. I had to show my annoyance to the people in reception, and eventually they sent the cleaners at 7.30 pm to clean my room. So, if you stay in this hotel, please ensure at the time of check-in that you want your room cleaned daily or else there is a possibility that it will not be cleaned. When you pay a lot of money in the best villa on the property, you expect better service when it comes to cleaning.
The setting of the grounds, the villa and the breakfast was all good.

AustraliaThe whole place could use a little TLC - we noticed some chipped tiles, missing grout in the pools; room needs a deep clean eg can see a little mould on glass door in shower from condensation, corners have some dust and grime. I'd love to see reusable glass bottles of water and large water filters/jugs provided instead of the single use plastic bottles in the rooms
Resort is peaceful; sheltered from mayhem of Legian. Staff are friendly and lovely. Gardens are nice, and my kids loved the 2 pools. Our family room was comfortable and spacious enough.
