Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMy room was situated above the family's quarters. As such, it was a bit noisy with children coming and going and a baby crying during the night. However, no traffic noise, in a quiet residential area. The property is located at the very end of a series of laneways off Bisma Street, so expect a long walk with luggage on arrival. However, on departing, our hostess carried my case downstairs and loaded it on her scooter to take up to Bisma St to meet our airport taxi, which was fantastic.
Very friendly and helpful staff made our stay comfortable. Only 8 rooms in total, so a peaceful environment. Tradional balinese architecture, with huge beds, made for a unique stay.

SpainWe stayed there for Nyepi but unfortunately we couldn’t really appreciate the authentic experience since the owners&the kids were quite loud during the silent day.
Authentic homestay away from the loud main streets. Approach by scooter (not car). The couple working there is extremely nice, even more like the proper hosts. Delicious breakfast, spacious and clean rooms, swimming pool also very clean!

SlovakiaThe location on the map is pretty much misleading - it shows you it's on the Bisma road, while it's actually 400 m down several alleyways, accessible only on foot or on a scooter. Going there at night or during the rain is an adventure on its own There's nothing wrong with that and I'd consider this place anyways, but I would prefer to have clear factual information on the location to make my decisions
It's a nice villa complex, the team was super helpful

GermanyThe pool had rather aggressive chlorine and the tiles come off partly. However, we still enjoyed to cool off.
Great location. Unfortunately the rice fields around the place are almost all replaced by buildings. Nice spacious rooms and different locations to do morning yoga with nice views. Very calm surrounding and tucked away from Jalan Bisma. Great Warung Gauri in walking distance.

AustraliaNoise from the fridge, wooden door to the toilet is sooo loud that will 100% wake your partner, when using it at night. Sleep wasn’t good. Shower water usable but very weak. Property photos are not relevant bacause new building blocks rice terrace view
Super friendly staff, rented good new motorbike right at property. Pool is clean. Located far from the road so no bike noise (just nature sounds)

United StatesSince the room is too big, it does take a little longer for the air conditioner to get the room cooled. Would be nice if there was hand soap in the bathroom. The creepy mask above the mirror watching me brush my teeth at night was kinda eerie. Only other mention is to maybe add darker curtains, so that the sunlight doesn’t creep into the room earlier than I want to wake up.
It’s tucked away off the main roads down a pathway. It’s a nice Homestay and the pool is nice. The room is very traditional Balinese and it is really big, probably double the size of a standard room. It has a fridge with beverages inside for purchase, so you don’t need to go anywhere. The host always went above and beyond to help me with what I needed. Breakfast was great and they kept the place clean.

AustraliaNot a biggie but you do need to walk a zig-zag path into the property which could be difficult if you have mobility issues. Like everywhere in Bali the paving is broken in places - but mostly ok. Motorbikes can get to the door of Ala’s.
Fabulous location close to lots of attractions, shopping and fabulous eating places of all varieties. Made and all the staff are the best. It’s really hot and steamy so the lovely pool was a welcome addition. Restaurant tips within 5 mins - Casa Luna, Cafe Des Artistes, Nicks cafe and the taco place across from Nicks where there is a really good blues duet most nights.

AustraliaIt's a little walk down a few lanes next to some rice fields to get there, so you cant go to the entrance by taxi (you could by motorbike). Whether you think this is a good thing or not depends on you. We liked the relative seclusion and watching the wading birds in the paddies, others might think it's an inconvenience
Thought it was an excellent combination of traditional balinese styling and great value. Friendly staff, good attention to detail on the breakfast, and a nice deep pool that has a view. And it seems Ubud has a lot of traffic on it's few roads these days, but this was set far enough away that it was peaceful and looks out onto ricefields, but you could walk up some pretty lanes and quickly be in the bustling busy centre. Rooms had carved wooden four-poster beds with mosquito nets, and a nice bathroom with large stone bath. Overall a gem for the price

We stayed 6 nights at Ala's Lagoon with my family. Its a great place. Located very near to the centrum, but in a quiet road filled with rice fields. The rooms were big and confortable AC worked very well, the bathroom was also big and nice. The pool was really nice. They have free coffee and tea all day near the pool. Breakfast was delicious, excellent. I recommend you to try the near warung Gauri, very good and cheap. The only thing that could be better is the Internet. Was very bad. We had our own, so it wasnt big deal for us.

New ZealandDeeper clean of the room (dust web) would be appreciated and batroom need a bit of maintenance.
Authentic Balinese accommodation that is accessed by foot or scooter only. The room was big with a balcony overlooking the pool and ricefield. The owner was very kind and would even bring the delicious breakfast on my private balcony. It is very well located away from the noise yet a short stroll from warung, coffee, restaurant, shops etc. I would definitely return.
