Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainNear by walking to the city centre of Yogya but in a quiet and nice neighborhood right in front of the south limit of the Kraton. Super cute place where it is easy to relax and rest. Extremely clean and cozy. Very kind and helpful staff, giving lots of great recommendations about where to go, eat… Also helping to organize the visit to Borobudur and Prambanan.

United KingdomThe room was rather hot at night so a thinner sheet or extra fan would’ve helped.
This charming hostel really made our time in Yogyakarta special as the staff were really friendly, made us feel welcome and gave us recommendations. The room was comfortable and good value. Breakfasts were very tasty and were local dishes which varied every morning. The staff even generously asked us to join them for dinner one night. The location was good as warungs and the main sights are within a 15-30 minute walk through a nice neighbourhood, or a very cheap taxi. Would recommend.

United KingdomEvery aspect of the homestay was really nice. The solo private room was cosy. Its located in a good place too and not too far from the city centre. The staff were incredibly helpful and provided exceptional customer service. Definately my highlight of Yogyakarta, will miss this place.

United KingdomUnfortunately only stayed one night - would have loved to stay longer. Could not recommend Abrakadabra more if you’re staying in Yogyakarta. Such a unique colourful and fun vibe in this homestay - staff were beyond lovely and our free pancakes in the morning were amazing. So much character to the room, all comfy and clean. Thank you so much for having us !

Abra is a beautiful and cozy homestay. Everyone there was so nice and welcoming, make it feels like your own home in Jogja. Located in a peaceful neighborhood yet remains easily accessible to some tourist attractions. They provide free bicycles to strolling around and a lovely little pool to cool off on jogja's hot day. Will always be my favorite homestay in Yogyakarta!

United KingdomThe room only had a fan so it was hard to keep cool some nights. The laundry lost my fav and only baggy trousers, the hostel guy did try to recover them but no luck :( :( haha
Staff were fantastic, so welcoming and lovely. Room was big and spacious, we went for a private with en suite. Free breakfast was a nice touch and they even did us a packed one for when we left early to visit the temples. Dipped in the little pool one day which was nice. We also met the Homestay owner and he seemed like a super cool guy (and you can tell by the way the place is decorated).

GermanyI was the only backpacker there so I never and to wait for free shower or toilet. Maybe if they are fully booked you need to wait a little when the facilities are still occupied.
Really nice and cozy hostel at a good location. The host and his crew is really nice and helpful. I was staying in the dorm which has comfy beds with curtains and lockers which easily fit a big backpack. There is free water and nice breakfast. They have a warm water shower and you can book several tours through the hostel. I could easily extend my stay for one night (even cheaper prices than digital booking). Really nice community areas.

New ZealandIt's hard to stay cool at night or day. Rooms are not equipped with full air conditioning. If you decide to have a holiday in Indonesia you'll need to accommodate the humid heat.
Exceptional hostel. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, very chatty and helpful. They know the vicinity and are keen to give inspiration and hints where to go and what to do. The breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared with local ingredients. The hostel is tastefully furnished and equipped. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. Cleaner comes through every day. The beds were clean and comfortable, the rooms spacious and inviting. Every room is equipped with a fan to cool down. The shared kitchen and living space is incredibly beautiful as the owner has created a green oasis with self planted plants, hanging off the walls and ceilings. The location is quiet, but close to the city centre. As a solo traveller who's never been to Indonesia before I have found exactly what I was looking for. I'd stay again, come back in a heartbeat. This place has got a fabulous vibe. One of a kind jewel.

FranceThe rooms can be quite hot, with individual fans next to every bed to compensate, but of course doesn't come without noise.

Australia- Location was very good overall but it's not ideal for people who like walking as it takes almost 10 minutes to exit the kampung because of the walls and you're staying right in the corner. As such walking somewhere 50m away as the crow flies on the other side might take 15/20 mins because you have to walk around the kampung wall and then double back around on the other side. Can be fixed by renting a scooter. - No AC in the room (a bit brutal in the hot Jogya dry season) - Old school door lock took some time to get the hang of
- Great hostel; big public area conducive to meeting people - Swimming pool which was appreciated in the hot Jogya dry season - Really good location, inside the same kampung as the Jogya palace, close to great food (e.g. gudeg warungs) and lots of people living their lives (e.g. Alun-Alun Kidul at night) - Very cute outdoor bathroom - Lovely staff - Price was very reasonable - Good wifi (worked for video streaming)
