Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesI think if some arrangements can be made with the properties behind the gates to the road to let cars in for drop off, this might take some planning but could be helpful for those who are less mobile. One recommendation I’d make is a side lamp for the beds. There are overhead lights and they are warm lights, so that is a huge plus (cool lights are awful)! Lastly, they have laundry service and car service available if needed.
The property is up a small hill and unless the gate is open cars can’t go up the property. However, for solo travelers, I think this is an added feature. It felt super safe and the beds were so comfortable, it felt like a memory foam, dense but welcoming. I stayed in a twin room which is full front glass so you look at the jungle or the massive amount of greenery right out the window. I absolutely loved it because unless anybody was staying beyond me, nobody really walked by. All staff were incredibly respectful too, you could see as they walked by nobody was up looking into the rooms and they only cleaned when you asked them too. They even left water and toilet tissue on the table outside and didn’t go into the rooms. The pool was lovely, while too cold for me during the season I was still able to sit and cool off midday for a few minutes. The bathroom was also clean and they provided soap and shampoo. Bonus is that it’s next to a theatre so for an hour each night to hear the different shows taking place, I personally liked this. It’s done by 8:30 and lights out by 9.

United StatesMy only wish was that the room was not musty. It was very clean and there was no visible mold, but I think some dehumidifying for the smell and moisture would be beneficial.
The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! My room was massive with an equally massive picture window. The night swims at any hour were a dream. The staff is so kind. It's so accessible to downtown Ubud and the Ridge Walk. I would stay here again. for sure.

In city, crowdedoutside- but hotel quiet, off the main road . If you like walking , yoga and nice cafes- turn right from hotel and walk little ally- after about 100m serenity, walking track with cafes and small rice field

New ZealandStairs were quite steep to get up to the bedroom. Fridge was loud. My room door didn’t lock.
Great location close to restaurants and markets etc down the main road. But away from the road noise with tranquil surroundings.

IndonesiaBreakfast showed up a bit too early before the intended time, when we were not ready. So make sure you tell them directly the specific time you would like breakfast delivered. That is the only tiny issue.
I liked just about everything. Incredible accommodations.

NetherlandsThe temple straight next doors hosts traditional dance on some nights which means there’s loud music until 9pm. We didn’t mind but is nice to consider beforehand. Reception is under construction but we weren’t bothered by it.
Location is right along the main road but incredibly quiet. Rooms were clean and quite large. Pool was lovely and clean. Breakfast was amazing and brought straight to the room every morning! Staff was also very nice. We were able to book an extra night the day before.

GermanyMy stay was alright and the staff is really friendly. I cannot recommend the Bungalows, but the apartments are fine and clean. They also changed my booking and changed my room from the bungalows to the apartment rooms. All in all a good stay in Ubud, with a great location in the middle of Ubud, but still a really quiet Hotel. As the prices are not too high, the value you get is alright

AustraliaPillows were uncomfortable so I woke up with a sore neck. The stairs in the room are wildly high, so it's probably not the best option if you have mobility or knee issues.
The staff were SO friendly and hospitable. It was a last minute booking and only a 1 night stay because I missed a nights booking other properties, but it was such a wonderful experience. So relaxing. The pool is refreshing and has lounges for sun baking. So cheap and right at the edge of the busy Ubud road. Easy to walk into town for anything you need. We also happened to be there on a Monday and saw a crowd gathered across the way and asked at reception what was happening and it was a traditional Balinese dance for 100k so we booked that and then wandered around the streets. Pick up and drop off is a little hectic but that's Ubud traffic...

AustraliaWe loved our bungalow however it does need some extra sound proofing as there is a road that runs behind it and you could hear people outside as if they were in the room with you (We learned a lesson about staying in a bungalow in town instead of the forest). The bed was also quite lumpy and uncomfortable, and the aircon struggled in the bungalow a bit. Although the temple next door was great, we had the misfortune of having them rehearse for an upcoming festival until after midnight for the first four nights of our intended two week stay. Obviously not the fault of Abanagan, just unfortunate. The owner was very understanding that we had to move our accommodation as we weren’t getting much sleep. Having said all that, we really did enjoy our stay regardless of the disruptions!
The property is a beautiful sanctuary just far enough off the main road. Beautiful nature and the pool was so nice to jump in after a hot day out walking. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the owner was very understanding to our changing needs when we had to shorten our booking. The Pura Dulum temple right next door gives you a show almost every night! Perfect base for exploring the busy town of Ubud on foot.

AustraliaYou cannot fault the location, the property is on one of the main roads which has shops and restaurants, but hidden a little bit up slight hill, so that you cannot hear the noise from the street. Every morning breakfast gets delivered to your bungalow at your chosen time. The pool is also lovely, as are the attentive staff members!

United StatesLocation is a bit problematic as there is a gate that blocks cars from accessing the property. Staff have the key but still it needs them to go and open it. Problematic for taxis. We got the last rooms at the end of the property which meant quite a long walk from the entrance.
Quiet peaceful.

United KingdomThe bar around the pool was closed but there was so many places to drink and eat on your doorstep that this did not matter. We bought our own drink and food and sat around the pool which was an idyllic setting.
Little apprehensive after reading a number of reviews..However I can assure you this is exceptional value for money in a fantastic location. The bungalows are very traditional offering clean and authentic Balinese environment.

New ZealandThere was some leaking which was potentially from the aircon upstairs but it didnt bother us too much. Maybe more regular service of the room could help improve future stays for individuals (clearing of rubbish, replacing towels), but also didn't bother us too much.
Breakfast was fabulous. Beds were very comfortable. Location was AMAZING as it had everything we needed in close proximity and all sorts of food options were an easy walk.
