How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Beautiful view over the Tisa river and Szeged. The city center is just a short walk on the side of the river away. The staff was very friendly. Nice and diverse breakfast.

One hour before our arrival we were offered to stay at another hotel due to a technical issue with our room, but after getting to the other hotel we found it was deplorably lacking in almost anything (cheaper, no view, no parking, smaller rooms, etc.). After calling back to Novotel, a solution was found to stay there. It would have been great not to have to switch hotels back-and-forth after an 11-hour long journey or at the very least, ensure to offer the same quality and conditions as we paid for initially.
Great location and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was a bit lacking in pastries/sweets but it was ok overall. It's a very old hotel so don't expect miracles, but we were overall pleased by our choice to stay here.

The restaurant and lobby bar were closing a little too early Parking was not convenient No gym in the hotel. You know it upfront, but still.. from a hotel of such a name, I would expect to have a gym available

We had no Nespresso machine in our room.

Location on Tisa. Near to serbian border. New and exeptionally clean. Friendly stuff. Uncomplicated Check-In and quick check out. Veryy good Breakfast buffet.

Guests still have to pay for parking, which depends on free spots, is expensive and it should be included in the price as it is an open area accessible to anyone on the street.
Location is great, breakfast was OK, most staff were friendly and the late check-out is a plus.

There were some issues with the local trains when I was there, and the staff gave conflicting answers that led to some hassles. Since this is important for the guests, I suggest they make a better effort to keep up to date with transportation situations so as not to mislead guests.
The hotel was very well located, with a scenic river view, just far enough away from the city center to feel quiet and yet within 15 mins walking distance from the center through a nice park. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was very good,

Few contructive suggestions: 1. The bed was not a double bed, but two single beds (which would mean us considering that we are a family) 2. In the bathroom, the shower cubicle was leaking, so after showering, water collected on the bathroom floor and we had to clean all other details 3. Considering location and busy city traffic, windows should have a bit better isolation But general impression is still very good, and plan to visit Novotel again (for third time) in next period :-)

Great view from appartment we had (611) with view directed to the Tisza river and city center. General impression is great, so this is the reason why we have visited hotel for second time in short time period :-)
