This is a beautiful property which just makes you want to relax. It is sooo quiet and just all around wonderful. The room was great and super clean. Breakfast and dinner were good - large portions and good food. We will certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for peace and quiet.

Steps just inside the door from reception are very worn--a hazard, also keep this hotel from being fully accessible. In a residential neighborhood with difficult access by car.

Because of a very late arrival (heavy thunderstorms and torrential rainfall on the way) I missed dinner in the restaurant, but kitchen staff made up and left a plate of cold cuts and fruit waiting for me. The room was simple but spotless (the hotel is a converted monastery) with unending hot water in the shower. Breakfast buffet was good quality with an omelette cooked to order as well. I have stayed here before and hope to again. Also, in a bit more than an hour you can be in central Vienna if you use the Autobahn.

Single bed but did book that as cheaper it was reasonably wide.

The building in former monastery with beautiful frescos. Good amount of communal areas. Very helpful staff. Beautifully decorated rooms in former monks cells and I had a view of garden. That was well maintained. Good breakfast and dinner.

Once there a few steps to walk up if older better to get taxi. We were ok.

The steps are steep, but you can take the road to get there.

Excellent food and wonderful facility. We enjoyed the garden and the courtyard. We loved getting information about the monastery and even attended church service Sunday morning.

There are a couple of things to be aware of. Although the setting is lovely, getting there can be a bit challenging. The road is quite narrow, and public transportation isn’t very reliable — even though there’s a bus stop nearby, the bus didn’t actually stop for us. We enjoyed the walk to the city center, but it does take time, so having a car or bicycle is definitely recommended. On the plus side, there are plenty of parking spots and the property is still easily accessible. One improvement would be to have easier access to drinking water. There’s no nearby supermarket and the tap water had an unusual taste. It would be great to have the option to buy bottled water on-site, access a filtered water station, or at least have a kettle in the room. This would be especially helpful during Sundays or national holidays when shops are closed. That said, these are minor details, and overall we had a wonderful and restful stay. The atmosphere of the monastery is truly unique and peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sopron Monastery. The property is absolutely beautiful, with a peaceful garden, a nice library, and a dining area decorated with old frescos. Our room was very clean and well-equipped, with all the facilities we needed. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was well-maintained. It’s a quiet and relaxing place, ideal for a restful stay.

Just inside the front door is the original well-worn stone threshold. It is an unexpected tripping hazard. Be careful! Also;. the hotel is hidden several kilometers from the city center in a quiet residential neighborhood and is hard to find,

The whole place is a wonderful ancient monastery converted into a quiet and restful hotel. The rooms are simple but well planned. The dining room is the old refectory with a frescoed vaulted ceiling. At breakfast Gregorian chants play softly in the background. Food is carefully made but portions are a bit skimpy.

The location was about 2km from the centre of Sopron but this meant we ate in the hotel both nights which was definitely a good decision

This place was idilic. The monastery is so quiet and peaceful. The staff were so welcoming and did everything to make us happy during our staff. The restaurant staff in particular were great. We ate in the hotel both nights of our stay but are so glad we did as the standard of food and wine was excellent plus it was great value for money.

The floors in the room were not clean at all, that was somewhat disappointing.

We booked a spacious room with private bathroom and actually got it - all as planned. The dinner and breakfast are brilliant, just note you have to pay for drinks during dinner, which is not a big deal in the end. Overall suitable for a short stay of 1-2 nights.

We can't fault the property for 2 amenities which we forgot to check for - a refrigerator in the room along with air conditioning. The room was lovely, although the bed was a bit hard.

Excellent breakfast! The rooms were spotless and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a beautiful garden and courtyard which guests can use.

A 4 star hotel without AC ? I understand that there maybe limitations because of the historic location. But… it should be clearly stated since AC is a normal expectation at a 4 star. Same for the lack of a TV . It is understandable, but should be clearly stated.

During the heat wave was hot in the room. Mosquito nets and small ventilator were at the room. We left that not all options to visit or at restaurant were told to us cause of EN language.
