Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungarySometimes people passing on the streets and on the common area would make a lot of noise, and that disturbed me quite a lot
I was not disturbed by anyone during my stay and the check-in process was quite fast and convenient

HungaryThe kitchen was a bit abandoned and old. The bathroom near my room was a bit smelly in the morning, but I think this was because of the canal. It happens. The pillow was a bit too soft for my taste.
I found everything I needed during my one night stay in the hostel. The host was very helpful and sent me all the necessary information before I checked in. However everything inthe room seemed a little old it was clean and the bedsheets and towel smelled good. There was also a kitchen, where I could borrow a plate and cup for my dinner and breakfast. The hostel is in the heart of Debrecen, so you can walk to see the main square and there are also cofes and shops nearby, as well as the tram.

PolandI was extremely disappointed with this accommodation. The room was located in a basement and in unacceptable condition. No windows, or any ventilation. When booking, we were assured that a private bathroom would be available, but this was not the case. The pictures are tricky, do not trust them. Despite not staying at the property at all, our request for cancellation was refused. This was by far the worst accommodation experience I have encountered, and I strongly advise others not to book here.

Czech RepublicIt's a nightmare. Don't go there. I had a tiny separate room, which was totally not soundproof from the next rooms and the hallway, so when there's anybody speaking, it's like they're speaking just next to my bed. (Obviously you can't count on people to be respectful. There were some disrespectful people talking very loud both in the evening and early morning (6:30).) The room smelled bad, I had to open the window, so I could hear a lot of noise from the main street (cars, trams). The whole hostel is in a basement, it's kind of cold and humid, just unpleasant environment. The bathroom was literally disgusting, with hair and dirt everywhere. The blanket and pillow are of the lowest synthetic quality. I found somebody's hair in my bed, it was visibly used before and the sheets were not changed. (!!!) Check-in took almost half an hour because the receptionist's computer didn't work. And so on and so forth...
I didn't like anything here. See below. How can you charge 25 € for such a terrible service? It's worth 5 € maximum.

United KingdomAll OK
A good affordable place especially for solo travellers who need a clean safe place to sleep and a few appliances to make a hot drink or warm a meal. Very clean. Good communication with the owner who reacts quickly to any queries. Easy access with a code. Close both to the city center (less than 1 km), and the Aquaticum - the famous SPA with thermal waters (1.5 km and convieniently connected by a tram). A big shopping center 400 meters away. A few pubs across the street - and despite this the place is quite quiet as well hidden. A bistro with yummy local food just 100 meters away. I had a good rest there, so I can recommend!

TurkeyThe booking information and the facts are different. I asked if there was a basement window, they did not answer and there was no window. The lower floors are dark and moldy. They asked for a room change. The bathroom is unhygienic. The toilet is not suitable for hygienic use. The sheets are very cheap. There is no fork in the kitchen. The stoves are broken. There are no paper towels. We had to eat outside. The rooms are made of plasterboard and let in a lot of noise. I felt like a prisoner. I have stayed in worse places, but they were not as dysfunctional as this.
Konum.

United KingdomIt wasn’t the owners fault but the access to the parking is a nightmare especially in peak hours as it is too narrow gates, as well as parking cars on the side of the main road which is makes almost impossible to park. Also, when wheelie bins out equals to impossible to park.
Overall, it was all nicely presented and it does meet with the purpose of my travel.
