GermanyVery nice, clean, central l---------------------------l Lodging at the northern edge of old town Pécs. Public toll parking limited, though hotel has own inside-outside parking spaces. Breakfast buffet was rich & plentiful. Provided pictures show rooms / building correctly & honestly though no lift. Outweighted by friendly & helpful staff and genuine very advantageous location of hotel. Old town with its rich cultural sites in walking distance, few shops with all necessities a bit further away. Overall very good experience, gladly again, recommended.

United KingdomBroken shower fixture, resulting in having to hold the shower whilst taking a shower. The door to room 226 needed to be double locked to be locked, as on single lock the door was still open! Broken cabinet ironmongery in room, although we didn't use these. Questionable quality shower gel. For a three star hotel these were acceptable. Each and every guest is required to provide their personal details at check in including their mother's name. Reception staff says this is a government requirement, although did not come across this anywhere else. The outdoor car park is great, the indoor parking area is tight. Access to the "new" part of the building is via this indoor car park. If you approach during the night, you may trip over the gate keep fixed to the concrete surface as the motion sensors only activate the lights once you have walked past that area, so the gate keep remains a severe trip hazard.
A very nice hotel in an excellent location close to the centre of the city, with great air conditioning, outstanding views, a fabulous breakfast and attentive staff. The balcony was amazing. The room was also clean and spacious. The beds were great, although the fold out sofa beds are a bit on the hard side.

NorwayThe reception area could use the same upgrade and treatments as the rest of the hotel, as it gives the wrong impression upon arriving. The new breakfast hall in the basement is very nice, but the stairs to get there could use an upgrade. The entrance to the "new" part of the hotel is through the garage, which also is not offering the most welcoming experience. All in all, this are very minor details, and easy to neglect after arriving.
The hotel was very welcoming, with a closed parking garage, nice outside terrace and large room. The garage was a great place to keep our motorcycles while there, and the hotel allowed me to conduct an engine service on their grounds. They even helped me to dispose of the used engine oil. We left some tools (a large wrench with to remove the rear-wheel of KTM 790 nuts) for the next traveller to benefit from (we had to buy one, and did not have the space to bring it along). The hotel staff does not speak English very well, but they are very kind, and try their best to help any way they can. The location is great, with a short walk to the center of the city passing by the UNESCO heritage site. Breakfast was above expectation. All in all, very happy with this stay.

BrazilHotel Barbakan is a great place to stay. We always stay here when visiting Pecs with my wife. Rooms are comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. The check-in is usually flexible, and they always make their best to accommodate us earlier if possible. Breakfast is good with many options and good quality.
