Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaThe room was beautiful and spacious, located in a very quiet and peaceful street. I especially liked how clean and tidy the room was, as well as the hallway and entrance area. The staff were very friendly — the receptionist welcomed us, showed us around, and gave us great recommendations for attractions in the city. Whenever we had a question, we would send a message via WhatsApp and they would reply immediately with all the information we needed. All compliments to them. I will definitely be coming back.

IrelandNo vent in the bathroom. No other issues.
Great communication. The staff were in constant contact about how to get to the property. Without knowing it we picked a great location, we didn't need to drag our luggage through the streets of The old town. We were dropped off at Buža gate and it was a short walk (with a few steps) to Kaleta House. We took the steps down to the old town centre each day & evening & once we took them back up! The rest of the time we walked around the outside of the walls back to Buža gate. Way less stress on the legs & heart. The accommodation is beautifully refurbished. Our room had loads of space for the two of us. Bathroom on the narrow side but the shower is more than large enough. The small fridge is a nice addition.

The location is right inside the ancient wall and the host Mr. Bozo was super helpful… He came at 4:00 am just to help us carry our luggage to the taxi waiting outside as we have an early flight that morning. Thank you Sir!!! All the best 🙏

United States102 steps! It's a workout but if you want to be in old town you will have to do the steps and it's worth it for this place.
Great location in old town, but be prepared to walk 102 steps from the main street. The location was quiet and convenient to get a taxi to the airport. Close to tons of restaurants. The host is very responsive and allowed us to keep our bags at the location since we didn't fly out till the evening. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. Wifi works great!

FinlandLocation was spot on, everything was close. Nice restaurants and bars just down the steps. Mind you there are lots of steps in old town, so get ready for stair climbing, gives you a good workout though 😅 Bozo was very helpful and very easy to reach all the time.

United KingdomCould hear the noise from other rooms, foot steps and people coming in late and leaving early to catch flights. Maybe better doors on rooms to block out sound would help. Couldn’t have one window open as someone would smoke outside and it would waft into room in the mornings and wake us.
Location is spot on right in the heart of the city walls but away from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street. Room was small but clean and had everything we needed. Shared kitchen downstairs to make a cuppa in the mornings. Host was helpful and informative. For the price it was really good.

AustraliaIt was only a 1 minute walk to the apartment from Buza Gate- and most of it downhill. That made it so easy to manage luggage. Two supermarkets, many restaurants and Banje beach 5 minutes walk outside Buza Gate. Bozo was a great host who communicated very clearly.

New ZealandI just thought that for the size of the apartment and price, it would have been easy for Bozo to provide a kettle and small fridge. I would have loved to have made myself a cup of tea in the morning, and with all the space the apartment offered, this would be an easy addition (and for the price, reasonable). But this is a suggestion. The only complaint really is that the bathroom smelled, not in a pleasant way! A diffuser on the really generous bench would have been a great addition. Also there was very little toilet paper, we sourced our own.
The host, Bozo, contacted me well in advance and made sure he could meet us on arrival. This made checkin a dream. The location was fantastic, right in the old town, and we made use of this in terms of coming and going in the heat we experienced while in Dubrovnik. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere rather than so centrally. The apartment was large, great for sharing with my teenage son who spread his stuff everywhere. The bed was really comfortable, lighting good, the bathroom generous.

PolandToiletries were not available. Need to bring your own soap and shampoo. The building is old as most of Dubrovnik. When we were there, there was a bit of a pest problem (cockroaches) which were getting inside from outside.
Location inside the city walls and gates. You get the Dubrovnik and the King's Landing feel. Everything is close. Walking distance to the heart of Old Town and many food options.

IrelandThe location of Villa St Vitus is amazing its in the heart of Old Town and a stones throw away from amazing restaurants, bars and cafes. The host Bozo was so accommodating and helpful to any questions and queries, meeting us outside the city walls to help us in to the accomodation when we arrived. The room has all that you will need while you are here in Dubrovnik.
