Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandPerfect location (although it will keep you fit with all the stairs .. but that is Dubrovnick :-)) The hosts are very kind and helpful. They went our of their way to help me with parking the car (which is not a small task in Dubrovnick). Will definitely stay there again.

CanadaGetting there might be challenging for old people. My young kids struggle, but celebrated the achievement to get that high. But this is not a place for people who struggles to do an extra to accommodate. There are a lot of stairs if you follow google maps, a lot! specially with heavy luggage. There are alternatives to stairs, but it's not evident at first.
In the old town area, within the city walls, nothing beats the location. The price was simply according to it. For families with kids, amazingly located in front of a playground. Young kids love to climb the playground structures as well as interact with the friendly local cats. Lovely experience!!! We saw the same local people around, chilling, talking, having a good time, they are friendly. Also hosts are really responsive and massively helpful, helping us storing our luggage in their restaurant and offering discounts! This is really really well appreciated by travelers, bravo!

HungaryYou need to climb several steps to get to the apartment. For us it was not an issue (even fun), but might be more challenging for elderly people.
Located in the atmosphere of the old town. The apartment was very comfortable, equipped with everything needed.

United KingdomThe property is located in a quieter part of the old town, which was perfect for us. The welcome was amazing, helpful and friendly. The hosts were top notch and couldn’t do enough to help out and sort out our parking. Everything was clean & tidy with wonderfully efficient air con (much needed). We enjoyed our stay here!

SlovakiaProbably my least favorite aspect was having to climb quite several stairs to reach the apartment. However, we were aware of this in advance before booking, and this is like a typical thing in Dubrovnik, so it wasn’t a major issue for us. However, if you're traveling with heavy luggage, it’s definitely something to keep in mind.
The rooms were equipped with air conditioning, which was a huge plus, especially since we were traveling during the hot summer days. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and included all the basic necessities such as a kettle, fridge, glasses, plates, etc.

AustraliaNext to a children’s playground and I got woken up by hearing kids playing.
Lovely aircon apartment that was cool on arrival. The apartment is short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the old town but be prepared there are several sets of stairs.

United StatesIt is not described that the apartment is at the top of old town dubrovnik, and you must climb about 12-15 flights of stairs to get to the apartment from the Main Street.. we're not talking small stairs but large stone blocks. very difficult to pull a medium luggage bag. so just be warned, and it should be described in the description that this apartment is NOT for people who can't climb many flights with their luggage.
Very clean, comfortable beds, air conditioning and wi fi good. owner very responsive!! had the bonus of having a small washing machine

A nice property situated in the old town. If you are able to climb multiple stairs in the old town with luggage then this is no problem to access. The hosts were accommodating and friendly. If you have hired a car and need a parking space you can reverse it with the host for €30 a day which is cost effective when compared to the public parking options available.

BrazilWe have nothing to complain about. But I would like to warn you that in the old city, there are stairs everywhere. That's a local feature. There's no way to escape. That said, avoid carrying heavy bags, because you will have to climb stairs
The apartment is super comfortable, right in the heart of the old city. A perfect local immersion, like a journey in time. The wall is practically next to our window. The apartment has all the amenities for a quick snack and breakfast. It is close to markets, restaurants and pharmacy. I would like to highlight and thank Pero and Rose's work, both of whom gave us full assistance from the beginning to the end of the stay. And in the end they were still kind enough to keep our suitcases in the family restaurant.

United StatesThe only challenge was parking, but that is really an issue with old town Dubrovnik. There's no parking in the old town, so the parking space is about 2km from the apartment. I'd highly recommend NOT parking if you are staying in Dubrovnik.
The property is a tidy, clean apartment at the top of the old city, near the outer walls. It's quiet and comfortable. The owners are friendly, speak great English and live nearby. They own a restaurant in Dubrovnik and can make recommendations about local cafes and sites. You'll walk up lots of steps to get there, but it's worth it.

United KingdomNot the hosts fault, but lack of WiFi in the area and phone network to be able to contact the host made this more difficult. It would be good to have a backup plan for if this happens to others.

United StatesThe water heater is on demand I think. The water temp was quite variable when taking a shower. It’s up quite a few flights of stairs (much of the town is) so don’t bring a roller. Backpack is the way to go and keep it light. This was not a surprise
