How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location for everything. Easy to find
The shower leaked quite badly onto the floor every time we used it. The underneath was exposed so we assumed it was being worked on

Verified reviewLocation
We entered the room we believed was ours, and about an hour later I received a message saying that the new tenants had arrived and moved our belongings to the hallway. Apparently, we had entered the wrong room, even though we had used the same code for the keybox. When we got there as quickly as we could (we were eating at a restaurant and asked for our food to go), we found that our things had been taken out to the street, not the hallway. The new tenant called me stupid and snatched the keys out of my hand. No one was present to mediate or watch over our belongings until we arrived. I find this extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. The landlord is not to blame for the new tenant’s rudeness, but once she was aware of the situation, someone should have been there to mediate, help with the language barrier, de-escalate the situation — since it was a room mix-up — and, most importantly, watch over our belongings. They should not have touched our things. Something could have been broken or stolen — and how would we prove it? Luckily, nothing happened, but I insist: they should have waited for us to return (I had informed them we’d be there in 15 minutes) and absolutely not taken the liberty to remove our belongings from the apartment, let alone place them on the street. This is completely unacceptable — and possibly even grounds for legal action.

Verified reviewThe location was amazing, the apartment was very clean, towles folded nicely on the bed. Wifi was stable. Reaction time for answering any question was fast and great
Frying pans were coated with teflon and were already scratched, because there was only a steel spatula. One standard stainless steel pan could be a great upgrade.

Verified reviewFantastic location near the Ploce Gate of the old Town and overlooking the Old Town Wall and Port. Views of the wall from all 3 windows. Restaurants 1-2’ away and a huge choice in the Old Toen 2-5’ walk away. Nice little kitchenette, washing line, air conditioning, iron and ironing board. Full kitchen cupboards and nice glasses and cups. Excellent instructions Access was slightly complicated but extremely well-communicated with pictures.
We could have done with a dishcloth and plugs for the sinks but, otherwise have no suggestions at all.

Verified reviewLocation was great as you just had to walk less than 300m to one of two Old City gates. Close to supermarket. View of City Wall and Harbour from the Kitchen and dining area. Very spacious corner apartment. Staff responsive when you call on Whatsapp. Going to the building, no steps from bus stop.
Wifi cut out for the whole day one day, I asked for the router to be restarted but never heard back. Apartment is on the 1st floor (UK) + a few steps down due to the layout, so difficult to get in and out of with large luggage

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay in Studios Loncarica! Access (getting the key) was very easy and the appartment itself was so cute and provided everything you need for a comfy stay. The view over the old town and harbour was priceless. We highly recommend this place!

Verified review- Amazing view from our room - possibly the best view we have ever had, overlooking the city walls and looking through to harbour. - Kitchen well stocked with hobs, cutlery and pans. Microwave and small grill. We were able to cook meals here easily! - Spacious room and bathroom. - Check-in was done via messaging owner online upon arrival in Dubrovnik, very quick and straightforward with directions to apartment and all necessary info. - Superb location: less than 5 min walk into centre of Old Town! So easy to get to and from Old Town.
- Two lights stopped working during our stay. We were able to manage without them but it was a small inconvenience. - We understand this is a traditional building but having key card access would have been convenient as it takes a few mins to lock both the apartment door and door outside of apartment with keys. - Bins could have been regularly changed inside apartment as after five days they were very full.

Too early checkout, cleaning team almost “kick” us out of the room. Low capacity hair dryer looking with like a vaccum cleaner.

Verified reviewThe location. Just a few steps to the entrance to the old town. Also very close to the cable car. And just 2 minutes walk to pizzeria Tabasco which serves the best pizza in Dubrovnik (I am grateful to a taxi driver for the recommendation). Variety of the facilities. It had everything you need.
Dubrovnik is overpriced. The price of the accommodation was too high as compared to the same type of apartments in other countries in that part of Europe. No lift (I don’t think it is possible to find property with the lift in the center). The facilities are a little old and worn.
Thank you very much for your review. Croatia is EU country with EU costs and EU standards, as same as high taxes. 133€ per night for studio apartments steps from and view on UNESCO protected city walls is little bit hard to say. Thank you for your review and thank you for staying with us :)
