How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautifully located apartment, just 10 minutes from the old town and the main promenade, close to many attractions and a large number of shops. The property is nice, clean, well-equipped, with its own private, gated, and partially covered parking for about 4 cars. The rooms are spacious and clean, with fairly comfortable beds, and in front of the building there is an area where you can sit under the trees, have a coffee, and relax. Highly recommended.
It's hard for me to find anything.

Verified reviewFriendly owner, lovely room. Great parking. Worth the money, close to town. We really liked staying here and if we are lucky enough to come back to Split, we would rebook without looking at other options. As we were leaving we had achat with the owner who recommended some places to visit in Slovenia on our onward journey and she kindly sent us a link.

Verified review- The host was very welcoming and gave us many suggestions on where to go, which turned out to be excellent. She helped us with everything we needed and we would definitely like to come back in the future. - The location was perfect, allowing us to reach the main beach, the city center, and the ferry quickly. There were also plenty of restaurant options nearby.

Verified reviewI loved this BnB. The room was so spacious and new and I enjoyed sitting in the garden to relax. I am sorry I was only there 1 night before my cruise. It is a great option if you need to board your boat the next day. There is a walking short cut down the street, through the vacant lot, over the train tracks to the bus station and port - and it takes 3 minutes even with my big 20kg samsonite - Ana will tell you about it. I will definitely book again next year if I end up on another Katarina Lines adventure. Thanks Ana for your kindness and flexibility in letting me check in early so I could race off to that event in Makarska.
I loved all of it - gosh I love a NEW bathroom and being 3 mins from the bus station and yet in a nice residential area away from the madness of the port.

Verified reviewIdeal location, very close to the beach and the old town centre. The rooms are very clean and quite cool despite the heat. Private car park is available. Very hospitable owner, met us in the evening and offered a chilled welcome cocktail. I really liked it! I recommend it!!!

Verified reviewThis was by far the best booking reservation that I’ve ever had. The room was beautiful and dreamy with a large modern bathroom and large windows. The room is gorgeous, modern, bright and clean and the neighbourhood is the best in Split. Five minutes to the beach but also residential and full of little restaurants that are small and charming. I loved having my first coffee at Monty Python, a local cafe just down the street where I saw all the same faces every day. There is an amazing bakery around the corner and some amazing restaurants too. Soul food- Toc and Lola to name a few. The owner Ana is so sweet and kind and made sure I was taken care of when I got sick during my stay. I extended my stay I enjoyed it so much and will be coming back with my mother. I cannot recommend this property enough.

Verified reviewThe location was great, really short walk to Split centre and the beach. The host was great she let us check in a bit early and met us to talk through everything in the area and what to do. The room was large and had everything we needed. Particularly like the addition of wine glasses so we could enjoy a glass of vino in the beautiful gardens!

Verified reviewI loved the small local owned feel of it. I was not expecting it to be so nice inside and out. everything is just as solid, but more clean then your expensive hotel. The host was there to great us and gave us a run down on everything. it was very easy and the location was amazing. 3 Min walk to beach and less then 10 min to Old Town.
I loved everything. We did not have a car, but there was some parking on the side. almost like a car port or driveway. but I know if you have a car they make sure you are taken care of. Just let her know before you get there.

Verified reviewI don't have enough good words about this accomodation. This is truly a hidden gem and the pictures don't do it justice. The garden with the little tables where you can chillax si a big plus. We actually ended up extending our stay here. The location is 2 minutes walking away from the beach and 10 minutes to old town. There is a bakery right around the corner. Basically everything is walking distance. We parked the car in the courtyard next to the building and walked everywhere. The host are incredible people. We had a realtively minor car problem and they helped us find a car service to repair it. Ana is actually a certified guide and will tell you everything you need to about planning a good trip in Split. We will definitely come back!
