Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

For starters, the host Stella is lovely. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, that our room was clean, and she’s a great cook in the morning! Fresh omelettes, toast, good coffee. The location was easy. A quick walk to the ferry dock, bus terminal, downtown split waterfront, and the local city beach. We were very centrally located in a quiet residential zone.

IrelandNothing bad to say at all.
The property was so close to everything. A 5 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to either the bus or train station and the harbour. The centre of the town contains the ancient Roman ruins which are well worth a visit. Stella was amazing. The breakfasts were substantial with bread and cheese and cold meats plus a delicious omelette. There was also fruit and yoghurts on offer and fruit juice and of course good coffee. Our room was very comfortable with air con for those very hot days and the bathroom was perfect, spotlessly clean and it also has a hairdryer. The shower is very good also.

ItalyI had the pleasure of staying at Stella’s place in Split for 5 days, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, Stella welcomed me with such warmth and kindness. From the delicious breakfast every morning to the thoughtful tips on what to see, where to eat, and how to explore both Split and its beautiful surroundings. Her hospitality exceeded all expectations. Every little detail was taken care of, and I always felt supported, relaxed, and truly “at home.” The location is also ideal – perfectly situated to visit the historic center, explore local spots, and easily reach the best beaches in the area. I would recommend Stella’s place to anyone visiting Split – whether it’s your first time or a return trip. You won’t find a more welcoming, generous, and helpful host. Thank you, Stella, for everything – I hope to come back soon!

Amazing host. Stella looked after us really well. Lovely clean room and nice little balcony. Great location for the train station and buses and ferry’s. 10 mins from the old town. Stella gave us lots of advice about split. Nice little shared kitchen to prepare your food. Stella provided snacks drinks and fruit all complementary. Nice breakfast with hot fresh omelette and fresh coffee cooked by Stella. The rooms are one floor up a short flight of stairs. The bed was memory foam so a bit squishy for us but might be ok for others. The mattress cover slides around so may be better to have one without plastic backing but you could remove it. I would definitely go back and recommend to others

United StatesNothing, everything was perfect!
Oh my goodness, we had the most delightful time at Rooms Stella! Our host was absolutely delightful, she was the sweetest and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Split. She provided us with plenty of travel guides, a welcome beverage, and the most delicious breakfast every morning. The kitchen was stocked with snacks and refreshments, plus the balcony was a wonderful place to relax during the heat of the afternoon. The room itself is quite comfortable, and the location is unbeatable. Easily walkable to the train station, Old Town, and beaches. She and her partner also arranged transportation to us from the airport rental car center, which was so helpful and oriented us to the city. We would love to return again someday, easily one of the best stays we've had. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

United KingdomThere really wasn't anything that Stella could have done to make our stay more pleasant. The only thing we can think of would be to have the option of a slightly firmer pillow ... but that's being nitpicky.
Stella, our host, was absolutely brilliant ... she couldn't do enough for us be that advisiing on the best places to eat, the best sights to visit as well as other things that made our stay in Split such fun and so memorable. Our room was large and spacious and had great air conditioning and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and varied and Stell couldn't do enough to make sure that we were well fed for the day. We'd certainly return when next visiting Split.

United KingdomThe room was on the smaller side but was very clean tidy and comfortable.
We loved Rooms Stella, and what a treasure Stella herself is! The finest omelette anywhere and lovely rooms. The property is situated just on the outskirts of the old town, the ferry port is an easy 10 minute walk. Stella arranged an airport pickup which we would highly recommend, and great value at €40 after an early start.

United StatesThere was nothing we disliked about our stay. We were sad to go! And we wish we could have stayed longer! Next time we visit Croatia we will choose to stay with her again!
We stayed in room #1, and the room itself was spacious and very clean with nice decor. Each guest room has its own bathroom, and we found ours to be nicely sized. There was plenty of space for our toiletries on the countertop, in the cabinet above the sink, as well as the drawer under the sink. The bed was plenty big for the two of us and was incredibly comfortable. Stella was extremely attentive to our needs and gave us clean towels and toilet paper whenever we needed them. She even gave us extra towels for the beach. The balcony was a wonderful bonus, and we found ourselves using the space frequently, especially when relaxing after spending the day at Bačvice beach. There is a communal kitchen adjoining the rooms where Stella's guests have free access to use their entire stay. She kept the refrigerator stocked and made it clear that we are to make ourselves at home. There are knives/forks/spoons, cups, plates, bottle/wine opener for guests to use and plenty of tea and coffee. Every morning, Stella had breakfast waiting for us (she asks the night before what time you want to have breakfast), including choices like tasty bread, butter, jam, cheese, meats, fruits, juices, coffee/tea, yogurt, and honey. But the best part of breakfast was her homemade delicious omelets! Stella will also give you maps of Split and expert tips on what to do/see locally. Her husband can also taxi you to/from the Split airport for a very reasonable price. Great places nearby: Bačvice beach (3 minute walk) Matoni restaurant (2 minute walk) Lola restaurant (2 minute walk) And about 10 minute walk to the old town where you can find Diocletian's Palace, shopping, and day trips to the surrounding islands. We can't express enough how much we loved our time in Split, and a big part of that was because of Stella. It truly felt like staying with family. Do yourself a favor and stay with Stella!
