Clean flat and easy to communicate with Simona, she was very kind and helpful, Thank you!

I am unable to carry suitcases and there are many stairs to get to the flat, adds a bit of stress, for checking in Simona helped me which I really appreciate

The room was beautiful and so was the bathroom. The view overlooking the harbor was phenomenal. The windows kept the room quiet at night. We were right in the middle of everything- couldn’t have asked for a better location. The communication with the hotel was fantastic- photos showing exactly how to find it.

There were many steps to reach the hotel and then many more to get to the room. Be sure you can manage your luggage. They did come and help with one set of bags.

We loved the location inside the palace. The sheets, towels and even the coffee spoons were etched with either a royal signature or emblem. Staying in the palace meant we were right amongst all the action inside the palace.

If we had to pick, it would be to have larger bed sheets.

This was hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. This little hotel, and I mean little only has four rooms. The owner spared no expense at the design and style of the rooms. Incredible features in the room, furniture, and bathroom. And the location to everything in the fortress was perfect. The receptionist was outstanding with everything from getting you situated in your room to guiding you through the maze of the fortress. If you are planning to go to Split book at Riva Palace.

Only thing I would add are USB and USB-C ports to plug in your mobile devices. Buying the European AC/DC adapter is a pain.

    Staff were very friendly.

If you like looking at historic brick walls and are as excited about them as the owner, then this is the place for you. However, if you just need a room to stay in without a view and don’t want to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs, you could definitely find somewhere else for much less that provides much better value for money. Thank you Booking.com for the compensation payment.

    Property response:

Dear guest. Obviusly you did not look well the pictures of your room on the Riva Palace Booking.com page when you made your 1 night reservation. Probably you looked all pictures on the main page of the Riva Palace and not the pictures connected only with your room. Your room number 3 has a view on the historic St.Domnius cathedral that is 1300 years old, and the famous Roman square Vestibul that is 1700 years old and is placed in front of the cathedral, and also near the west wall of the Ethnographic museum as part of Roman Emperor Residence. The pictures on our Booking page are completely accurate. It's incredible how you didn't recognize that you were in the 1700 years old Roman Diocletian's Palace. Bricks that you mention belongs to the Ethnographic museum that was in the 1700 years old history part of Residence of Roman Emperor Diocletian. This is something similar that you were counting bricks in the Colosseum in Rome. Please read a history facts about Diocletian’s Palace and maybe you can imagine where have you stayed when you were in Riva Palace. We advise you to study where you are going in the future before reservation. We don't think that we have harmed you at all, and we think that you were just trying to get your money back due to the some reason. We are sorry for this situation but obviusly you are very rare guest among all others that are very satisfied with Riva Palace. Booking.com without our permission pay you back 10% of your reservation and we hope that small amount that you get back will be enough for breakfast at airport. We wish you nice looking flight to your mother country.

10/10 stay - the location of the property is directly across from the cathedral with a multitude of restaurants at your doorstep! Simona was a brilliant host offered a great overview of the city and incredibly helpful.

I wouldn’t say I disliked anything - I would say if you struggle with steps the location of the property may not be ideal.

While the location is hard to find, the staff sent very helpful directions so we managed to locate it easily. The room was large and very comfortable. Location is amazing. Inside the wall and very near to the cellar.

    All was good!

Location is brilliant - right in the middle of the old town. Can be a bit noisy but did settle down after about 11pm.
