United StatesThere were many steps to reach the hotel and then many more to get to the room. Be sure you can manage your luggage. They did come and help with one set of bags.
The room was beautiful and so was the bathroom. The view overlooking the harbor was phenomenal. The windows kept the room quiet at night. We were right in the middle of everything- couldn’t have asked for a better location. The communication with the hotel was fantastic- photos showing exactly how to find it.

We loved the location inside the palace. The sheets, towels and even the coffee spoons were etched with either a royal signature or emblem. Staying in the palace meant we were right amongst all the action inside the palace.

United StatesOnly thing I would add are USB and USB-C ports to plug in your mobile devices. Buying the European AC/DC adapter is a pain.
This was hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. This little hotel, and I mean little only has four rooms. The owner spared no expense at the design and style of the rooms. Incredible features in the room, furniture, and bathroom. And the location to everything in the fortress was perfect. The receptionist was outstanding with everything from getting you situated in your room to guiding you through the maze of the fortress. If you are planning to go to Split book at Riva Palace.

10/10 stay - the location of the property is directly across from the cathedral with a multitude of restaurants at your doorstep! Simona was a brilliant host offered a great overview of the city and incredibly helpful.

United KingdomVery little! The pillows on the first night were maybe a little over stuffed, but they were replaced on subsequent nights with much better ones.
Simona gave an excellent reception and explained the city well, not to mention the fact we were met at the Riva from our taxi and shown to the room. We were provided with a map and Simona pointed out locations and advised on how best to get there. The room itself was well appointed and large. Coffee machine with excellent coffee, large powerful shower with somewhere to store toiletries. Large cupboard for storage with an ironing board. Table for two, and a writing desk. Air-conditioning was excellent and very required. There was a large fridge where I could chill my water bottle too. The location really couldn't have been better, good food, drinks and incredible tourist attractions effectively outside the door. And being shown into the palace on arrival was stunning. Yet for a very touristy and busy area the room was very quiet.

United StatesI did not realize how many stairs we needed to climb with all our bags in oppressive heat. I also did not realize that there is no lobby, no front desk staff, no common space. I honestly thought I was a booking a 4-star hotel. This is NOT a 4-star hotel. It is more like a 4-star apartment building with no services. Pillows were too puffy.
I loved how responsive the staff was on WhatsApp and how detailed the instructions for finding the place and using the AC and the flexibility for a late check out. Our room was well equipped, had good AC, WiFi and a lovely bathroom. Very quiet even though it is in the heart of the old town.

Family trip to Split staying at the Riva Palace in two seaview rooms. The rooms are built in to the sea facing wall of the Deoclatian Palace. Perfectly located for exploring Split old town and a 10min walk from Bacvice beach. Rooms had all necessary facilities and AC that kept the room cool even when it was 33c outside. Wouldn't hesitate recommending this to anyone visiting Split.

IrelandWe had an amazing experience at Riva Palace. From the moment we arrived—albeit at 5 a.m. after our flight was unexpectedly diverted to Dubrovnik due to storms—the staff went above and beyond. They waited up for us and welcomed us with warmth and kindness, which we deeply appreciated after a stressful travel day. The rooms are absolutely stunning, with beautiful decor and all the comforts you'd hope for. The view over the marina is simply beautiful—waking up to it each morning was a highlight of our stay. Exceptional service, a gorgeous setting, and genuine hospitality made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommended!
