Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLeaving Sun Gardens was bittersweet — we were genuinely sad to go. Had I known that our next stop, the Amphora Hotel in Split, would greet us with an extremely rude staff member at reception, I would have cancelled that stay altogether and extended our time at Sun Gardens.
From the moment we arrived and were escorted into the foyer for check-in, the magic began. We were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine welcome. Every member of the customer service team — from the concierge staff and the young gentlemen assisting with buggy rides and luggage, to the diligent housekeeping team — deserves no less than a seven-star rating. The buffet breakfast was exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring nothing was too much trouble. We loved the room service on our first night — the steak dinner was delivered promptly and cooked to perfection. La Pasta, one of the five on-site restaurants, was another highlight. We shared a delicious beef pasta and the best calzone pizza I’ve ever had. Well done to the entire team for creating such a memorable stay!

Spain-
We had a truly lovely stay as a family. Most of the staff were warm and welcoming, and the private beaches, pools, and spa made it incredibly relaxing. The restaurants offered great variety and quality throughout. A perfect spot for a family holiday — we felt very much at ease and will most likely return next year

HungaryThe air conditioning system is a bit loud, and soundproof terrace doors should be installed. But since the surrounding area was quiet, it was ok.
The quiet, but beautiful surrounding, the kindness of the staff, and the fact that they have more restaurants at the hotel for staying in, if you want to. The management’s approach, that they care about their guests wellbeing, is a very important aspect, especially nowadays. Good that they realized that it is essential.

United StatesWe liked everything about the property.
Wonderful for families with young children. The sports facilities and game room were clutch when it rained one morning. The spa is great and they have many restaurants on the property. They have an actual super market on the property as well. The staff was beyond accommodating and helpful. Every single person that worked there was kind and helpful.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaWiFi could be better.
From the moment we arrived at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, everything was far beyond our expectations. The setting itself is breathtaking, with panoramic views over the Adriatic and Elaphiti Islands that instantly make you feel you’ve stepped into a private piece of paradise. The accommodations were immaculate – spacious, beautifully designed, and with every detail carefully thought out. Waking up to the sea views from our balcony was a dream. The pools and private beach were equally outstanding: crystal-clear water, comfortable loungers, and attentive service that made relaxation effortless. Dining was a true highlight. With so many restaurants and bars to choose from, every meal felt like a new experience, ranging from authentic local dishes to international cuisine, all prepared to perfection. The spa and wellness center were simply world-class, offering an incredible range of treatments and facilities that made it hard to leave. The sports facilities were just as impressive, with everything from tennis and squash to water sports – there truly is something for everyone. What made the stay unforgettable, though, was the service. Every staff member went above and beyond, combining professionalism with genuine warmth. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we felt truly looked after throughout our stay. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful escape, a family holiday with plenty of activities, or a luxury base to explore Dubrovnik, Sun Gardens delivers on every level – and more. This is one of those rare resorts where reality exceeds the photos, and we cannot wait to return.

SwitzerlandThe only downside is that the location is a bit far from the Old Town, as it’s already on the outskirts. Transportation can be pricey and commuting isn’t very convenient—you really need patience if you plan to use public transport. If you take Uber or Bolt, it can sometimes take a while to get a booking since the resort is a bit far. The hotel does offer shuttle buses, private transfers, and even boat rides (all for an extra fee). In the end, it really depends on your budget and preference. But overall, everything is still doable
The pool, private beach, spa, and all the facilities were excellent. The concierge staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were spotless, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing—perfect for a restful getaway. Overall, it was a superb and memorable experience.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaPerfect location, excellent food, fantastic rooms, and breathtaking views – this hotel truly has it all. There is no better place on the Adriatic Coast, and without a doubt, it is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything here is simply perfect, but above all, the greatest strength of this hotel is its staff. They are exceptionally professional, attentive, and genuinely guest-oriented, making every stay unforgettable.

FranceThe lunch that you can order pool side or sea side. Small not many options. That could be improved greatly.
It has many options of places to relax and go swimming. For such a huge property the beach feel quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is delicious. Fantastic place for families. Game room, grocery store too. Still stays quiet for adults.

United KingdomRestaurants were pricey and the on premises grocery store was a rip off in terms of prices. Not easy to access Dubrovnik if you don’t have a car. Uber is typically available but can be hit and miss when travelling with young children. Step free access was non existent if you stayed in one of the residences
Well equipped and good staff
