How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Needs a bit of "face lift," but that also comes with time! Overall, there are no negative remarks
Perfectly located in the old city centre! I stayed in a 6 bed dorm. Sadly, I got a top bunk. Didn't like that at first, but the sleep was actually good.

We had a lot of trouble finding it as there are multiple oil bar restaurants & walked straight passed - but hostel sent lots of clear instructions and photos so easy to find in the end and they were so helpful!
Very cute small hostel - very friendly helpful staff, for our one night stay.

Quite small place, so if you want to have a nice common area to hang out there is not! But kitchen worked for that as well. Beds are making noise and moving a lot while people there. The room I was at, the wifi wasn't working for me at all, only outside of it.
Kitchen has needed supplies for making food. Staff was very kind and helpful, location perfect at the old town near bus station/ferries/parks.

No hot water in kitchen. Was kind of hard to find the hostel but got there eventually

I stayed in the hostel for two nights and the staff was very nice! Definitely a good atmosphere where everyone is welcome. I shared my dorm with Nicola, one of the staff members, and he was such a nice person to be around with :)

bathrooms had shower water overflow floor always wet and people often sprayed floor while using toilet. Could use floor grate with rubber mat to rise feet out of wet. Staff smoked in reception and guests allowed to smoke on stairs outside door, allowing smoke into hostel.

The breakfast was not included. The place to keep the luggage was too small.

Someone stole food in the fridge. Limited kitchen utensils.

There were only two bathrooms, each having a shower and toilet, which at times would be a challenge.
I chose this hostel due to it proximity to everyhing, I later learned that it is even within the confines of the old Diocletian's palace. Just 5-10 from with the main train station and long distance bus station including airport shuttle bus. Local bus station wasn't far either (10-15 min walk), if you want to visit the Salona ruins in the neighboring town of Solin, with bus route 37 leaving every 20 minute. Very friendly and helpful staff and a well-equipped kitchen to cook your own food if you don't want to eat out. They also had a Whiteboard with current events, list of suggested restaurants/bars which were good, which makes it easy to choose the better options amongst a sea if choices. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and though within the Old City, at least of time of visiting not too noisy.

Receptionist Francisco is friendly to help and share information. And the bed is good to sleep and you don’t have to worry about the cat since they won’t bother you lol. And if you are really concerned, just choose the upper bunk!
