Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaOur rented bikes were taken by someone from the parking area next to the hotel. That was disappointing. Not sure rental services have sth to do with the hotel)) Late check-in time and early check-out time.
Hotel Neptun is a great option if you travel to Brijuni and want to prolong enjoyment and not to be in a hurry. The hotel has been definitely renovated. Room and bathroom are very decent and comfortable. I loved sitting at the balcony facing the park. Breakfast is very assorted. It suggests a big choice for kids. We didn’t check the options of lunch and dinner - that day the restaurant a la carte was closed during the lunch. We had lunch at the beach cafe. For dinner we have left for Fazan and it was worth doing this.

United KingdomBeing owned by the national park I suspect that the hotel struggles to get funding to invest. This is reflected in the rooms which are very dated. One simple thing - put proper shower head holding rails in the bath the loose hook means showering at 45 degrees :) the hotel is not cheap by Croatian standards and so the authority should invest in the property which has plenty of old, world charm but unfortunately not enough spent on up-keep. This is a shame as the location and staff are so lovely.
This hotel is pretty much the only choice if you want to stay on the island. The other property is associated. The staff were lovely and the buffet dinner and breakfast were fine. The hotels parking on the mainland is convenient and good value.

SloveniaThe room was renovated and spacious, the private balcony with a view of the sea was surprisingly spacious and had a really tall cieling. The bathroom even has a heater, while the room has it's own air conditioner. There was a lot of food options for breakfast and dinner. We tried most of the food and it was all amazing. The staff (both at reception and in the restaurant) was super nice and welcoming.

GermanyThe breakfast buffet could be better. The coffee from the machine is not enjoyable, one can order proper espresso but that costs extra.
This island is a wonder. We loved every second of our stay, first we only booked one night as no further nights were free, but the staff was very helpful and we ended up staying 4 nights. The hotel beach is very calm and we were basically alone, there are plenty of opportunities for activities like biking, tennis, golf, swimming.. the food at the hotel restaurant was delicious but the hotel offers free ship to the nearest village which has nice places as well.

Czech RepublicThere is not much, obviously the hotel and hotel rooms are more thematic in the style of socialism, which we love. Someone can miss the most modern technology. But this is not our case, we even prefer this type of hotel.
This is for me and family provon destination. Beautiful island, no cars - wow - in this world this is the biggest benefit. And the size of the island versus number of accomodated people, this is not busy place at all. Breakfest and Dinner by the sea.

SloveniaCarpets in the hotel reception and elevator could do with a replacement soon. Or better yet just use tiles.
The location is simply wonderful. So much to explore, see and enjoy. Find an empty beach and just relax. I will be coming back to Brijuni for sure.

SloveniaThere is a limitation when you are alowed to travel by boat to the island on the first day of your stay: that is possible from 12.30 on for free, not earlier. This doesn't make any sense to me. You can leave your lugage in a hotel until your room is available, which is from 15.00 on. So,why not come on the island in the morning and enjoy it couple of hours more, go swimming, spend some money on refreshments etc. You could, but you'd to pay additional fare, which with regards to the price of the accomodation seems not necessary. Secondly, if you are a light sleeper and your neighbours nextdoor would talk or watch tv late at night, you might wake up due to poor noise isolation in the rooms.
Island is exceptional by itself. To be able to stay there, with all the history, nature, leisure possibilities, tranquility, hospitality, pine "parfum" and shade is just unique. Hotel Neptun is being renowated part by part every year-now rooms have AC, new bathrooms, there are watercooker, fridge, beach towels. Fine breakfast, optional dinner. Personnel great. They even have a hotel doctor. Once you are on the island, you can travel by boat to the mainland/Fažana for free unlimited times.

LuxembourgFrom time to time I velt that waiters “did not understand” what I want to order on purpose in order to make more profit (e.g I ordered a plate of 3 different cheese as an entree, and received and was charged for 3 plates)
