How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBeware! AI corrected photos do not accurately represent reality! The staff was nice—if not extremely friendly, at least okay—but that is where the positives end. The biggest apartment I booked was on the other side of the street with no elevator, located on the fourth floor. It is definitely not a four-star accommodation. Just look at the welcome carpet—it is terribly dirty! I traveled with my kids, and if we hadn't been extremely tired, I would never have stayed at this place and would have requested a reimbursement. For that price, I could have booked two rooms at the Hampton Hotel that would comfortably accommodate us all. I chose this place because it was supposed to have a spa (which I learned after payment costs an extra €100) and a washing machine. However, there was nothing to hang the clothes on! There was no dryer and no place to hang the washed clothes, either! Additionally, it is not air-conditioned! That is a lie. There is a small air conditioner in the living room that barely works, and there is a long corridor plus another smaller one dividing the it from bedrooms, making it hot in both bedrooms And the smell! It was like someone tried to mask smoke and sweat with perfume—absolutely awful. I was told there was no space in the garage and that I could park on the street (but there were no spots) or use one of the hotel’s spots on the street for €20. Even most hotels don’t charge such an amount for parking; it’s usually around €15. It cost me so much just to park on the street! So, no, I do not recommend this place for that price! You would be better off staying somewhere else.

I honestly expected alot more because for this price range could find better. Definitely not family friendly, you enter in building and from there to another building, inside it is 2 rooms separated with door n keys On our opposite room there was someone having some inappropriate actions and sounds coming which is not child-friendly! I repeat! +18 things! Second, not hygienic! Not everything works This apartment/rooms look like its more like for use of one-night +18 use-cases mostly Honestly just run away pay 50-100€ more per night and find somewhere better Hotel is not hotel, its apartment and is not like in pictures And suddenly woke up to 5 different places of insect bites on my body Just run away i wont get here again, all of our family has insect bite and it seems not mosquito but an insect likely since the marks we have are bigger, never seen such bite marks before in Germany Our passport was scanned with the staff's phone, unprofessional, private phone as copy tool uncomfortable

The apartment you were situated in is in the annex part of our property, which is not unusual in Croatia, where properties have no option of adding capacity other then neighbouring building. As much as we would like to stress out that this unit is not in our main building, we unfortunately dont have this option on booking,com website. We are sorry you had noises from the neighbouring apartment and are sorry you didnt report this issue to our frontdesk, which is available for our guests 24/7, physically daily from 7am until 11pm and after reception work hours via phone contact which all our guests have for emergencies like this. We would gladly sort this situation out for you, all you had to do is report it. All of our guests are also asked at check out if everything was ok with their stay and you didnt report any issues, so we are quite confused now by this review. Mosquitos are unfortunatelly an unwanted summer guest and that is why we prepare all apartments for guests in a way that they are cleaned, cooled down with AC and all windows closed, but unfortunately we cannot control what guests do after checking in, leaving their doors and windows open for insects to come in. We have to address your claim about taking photos of ID, we dont do this, our frintdesk uses a specialised check in app on phone that only scans the information from guest ID (doesn not keep a photo record) in order to make the check in process faster, so guests dont have to wait for the information to be typed in manually. This is a normal situation in properties that use modern technology for daily operations. The guest information is then automatically sent for the obligatory guest registration. Verified reviewWe took the hotel appartment, the building itself is quite old. The breakfast was really good. But the hotel wasn’t close, so we had to drive a few kilometers to get there. The hotel said it was 4 stars, but it didn’t feel like it. The bathroom didn’t seem safe. The water heater was hanging low, where kids could reach it, and that’s dangerous. The air conditioner was only in the living room, so the bedrooms got really hot. We had to walk up four flights of stairs to get to our apartment, and that was pretty tiring. The breakfast was tasty and clean. But the lady who served us (she had blond hair) wasn’t very friendly. I gave her my passport, and instead of handing it back, she just put it on the table where we were eating and walked away without saying anything. She didn’t even smile. That felt kind of rude. So, the breakfast was nice, but the hotel didn’t feel like it should be called 4-star.
Everything feels quite old, not a 4-star experience.

You did not make a reservation for the spa because our spa rooms would not allow you to make a reservation for more than 2 people but you were trying to convince us that you booked room with spa and kitchen for 4 people. Verified reviewThe staff was very accommodating and helpful. We initially booked the king suite with sauna and jacuzzi and arrived there well after 20. We jumped into the jacuzzi immediately after getting in the room and realised very late that the apartment has no windows to open. It got really stuffy. As my husband has allergy issues, it was very hard for him to breathe afterwards. We asked for a change of the room and they enabled it for us very quickly and free of charge. The next room was very clean, beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed our stay fully.

Verified reviewI liked everything. This is "my cup of tea". I have been visiting Zagreb often lately and this was the best stay for me, even though the rest of the places were good, but I liked this the most. I especially like that you have an apartment with a kitchen, not only room and an option for a garage but you still have a reception and a breakfast. The staff was very nice. I took a room with a balcony. It was great. Very good value for the money.
