How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The Guesthouse Residence Major is a great spot close to the beach. The beds are very comfortable, and we loved the terrace. It was just what we were looking for on our family trip.

Very pleasant stay — everything was clean and cozy, and the host was kind and helpful. The beach is just 5–10 minutes away on foot (public access), and it's about a 20-minute scenic walk to the old town.

The appartment was excellent, everything was clean and desinfected and we were offered with fresh drinks. It has a balcony to enjoy the morning coffe and It was so nice. The owner recieved us so well. She was particullary kind. We have a great experience. A beautiful beach is really close to go by walking

We liked everything, the only thing we didn’t see while booking that the double room consists of only one room, but that wasn’t an huge issue:)
You can reach the beach in 8 minutes by foot and the city centre in around 25 minutes The location is in the quiet area The host was amazing!! So hospitable, helpful and friendly, she made this stay even more special:) The apartment was really clean and modern, the decorations in the room are beautiful There is a balcony with a great view

Nice apartment, wonderful hostess! She met us, accommodated us and showed us everything. The room had everything we needed, the beds were ok and everything was in working order. The air conditioner is fully coping to cool two rooms, it is conveniently located so that it does not squeeze the person on the sofa at night, but also cool the main bedroom. Wonderful automatic blinds on the new windows and extra thick curtains. I got a great night's sleep. There was also a nice bonus of drinks and at the end the hostess kindly drove us to the bus stop. A highly recommended place to stay, right near a little beach and a nice 20 minute walk into the center. I was picked up at the bus station and also offered a lift back.

No shops or restaurants in the immediate vicinity although both are within 10 mins walk. Centre of Rovinj is 20-25 mins walk. A taxi cost 15 -20 Euros to the marina.
Really warm welcome from the owner, she was always on hand to offer advice about the area. Our room on the 1st floor was quiet, self contained with everything we needed including a large well fitted en-suite shower room. Morning coffee in the sun on the balcony was a treat! The sweet aroma of jasmine in the evening was so lovely. Parking was available immediately outside the house.

Very cozy room with a balcony, free private parking in front the house. Located in a quiet area and easy walk from Cuvi Beach. Hosts are very welcoming and pleasant people. Huge recommendations for everyone!

Everything was perfect! The owners are very nice people, they help us with everything. There is everything you need in apartament. Very close to the beach which is ideal for families with children. To the centre is about 30min on foot. There is a parking next to the apartment.
