Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was about a 15/20 minute walk to Cavtat, uphill on the way back. Fine but couldn’t give top marks for location only because of this. Otherwise fabulous.
A really relaxed, informal setup with a very attentive and accommodating host. There’s an amazing and tasty dinner available, cooked in their authentic outbuilding. Breakfast was awesome and it was so nice to have a coffee and drinks in the lovely garden. Lovely view of the sea and sunset from our balcony. Clean & comfortable. Cavtat is a lovely town with nice waterside and restaurants (close to airport so do get planes(.

IrelandWhat can I say, Maro and Nicole are fantastic hosts. We absolutely loved staying with them. So much so we nearly extended our trip! Staying here was an absolute dream and we intend to visit again! If you stay here you can expect a chill atmosphere and great locally sourced food and wine in the Konoba (restaurant) morning and evening. If you like fish/seafood, definitely get the platter and if you prefer meat, the veal under the bell is the best we ever tasted. The pool is spotless & the loungers are extremely comfortable. Maro's Dad often dropped off fresh Figs from the tree for us. It's a short 15minute walk into the town, where there are some nice stony beaches, though we would recommend a good pair of trainers for this as there are some hills to negotiate. The village is lovely and you can get a boat into Dubrovnik to see it for the day. Maro's recommendations for things to do and places to see are exceptional and if you stay here you should definitely ask! Overall this is a fabulous property, complimented by brilliant hosts, a beautiful restaurant and pool, giving it really more of a boutique hotel vibe.

United StatesI wish I had known about this place before I had booked other lodging in Dubrovnik.
All of it! Not billed as “an experience”, it can certainly be one, if you choose. Maro and his family offer locally sourced- from their property, when available- home cooked, Croatian food in the (I hope I got it right) the traditional style of the konoba. It seems like much more than that, though. Great food and drinks, amazing garden and pool, and the apartment was the best lodging I’ve stayed in while in Europe- large, clean rooms with the most comfortable bed. The best part, though, was the company and learning about Croatian life!

Perfect, location way up the hill but taxi by host and in village so easy, 10€ each way. Amazing views and our apartment had front and rear balcony so one always in the shade.

United KingdomEh... nothing, really. I would say that when you walk to town, go early in the morning or later in the evening as it can be taxing in the heat.

AustriaThe only negative thing was staying there for only one night!
- Everything! - rooms are big and beds are comfortable, they have everything you need for your stay. - if you prefer relaxing: the garden, relax area & pool are super comfy! + there is a little house made of stone from 1936 in the garden with lots of homemade tasty liquor :) - for a little bit of adventure: There is a beautiful „hiking“ area along the coast (4mins drive away) where you can swim (clear blue water) and watch the sunset too (it‘s a must!!!) - the hosts are super friendly, we thank them a lot for their hospitality!

ItalyQuiet, simple, clean place with a nice pool and bar. The hosts live on the property and made us feel right at home. Also they’ve been super responsive and helpful throughout the stay. The apartments are a bit of a long walk away from the beach—especially when the sun is shining it gets very hot. But it’s worth it when you get to get straight into the pool 😌

United KingdomNothing. It was all perfect.
We were bowled over by how friendly, informative and helpful our hosts - Maro and Nicole - were. They taught us so much about Croatian history, food/wine and culture. The Croatian feast hosted in the Kanoba in the garden of the apartments is an experience not to be missed. We felt it added a huge extra dimension to our short trip. We also had the pleasure of our hosts arranging a day out for us, at short notice, which included a drive to an incredible viewpoint, a visit to a beautiful old monastery and a wine tasting with lunch at a fabulous local winery. It was really wonderful. The apartment was spacious, comfortable (including the sofa bed), had an amazing view. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Breakfast was fabulous too and excellent value. The hosts could not to enough to make our stay enjoyable.

United KingdomThe balcony albeit large is shared with the neighbouring apartment. Some large pots with plants growing up a dividing trellis would be good as it’s big enough. The table and bench seating for eating at in the living area was uncomfortable.

Everything about Marojica apartments was great. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, showing us around the apartment and garden area as soon as we arrived. Unassuming at first, Marojica apartments are built above a quiet hilltop residence in the bay of Cavtat. The hosts live below with 3 generations all working together to cater for their guests. Views from the front facing apartments are nothing short of spectacular with the open ocean as far as the eye can see, and historic Dubrovnik in distant view. On arrival, Maro notified us of their on-site restaurant located in the garden area inside a renovated stone hut dating back to the 1930s. Inside was cosy with an open grill and bar area with enough seating for approx. 8 guests. We opted to have dinner here and were nothing short of blown away. Maro served us delicious cocktails with the help of his niece and our eldest who picked fresh mint and lime from the garden. Maro’s Mother made our entrées which were completely faultless. Hands down the most delicious octopus I have ever tasted. Maro’s Father joined us in the restaurant to prepare our meat and fish mains on the open grill. All fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. We finished our meal with a sweet desert and were so pleased that we chose to stay here for dinner and not venture into the town. This was truly an experience for us and one that I won’t be quick to forget. I seldom take time to write reviews as we travel a lot but Marojica and its wonderful hosts deserve all the recognition they can get. I highly recommend and sincerely hope to return.

South AfricaThe shower does not have a door - water splashes around the bathroom. We didn't mind it for our one night stay though.
Beautiful apartment, very comfortable and spacious. It is a peaceful holiday location. The room has all the necessary amenities, and a pool area to relax in. The kitchen has everything you need. Owner was friendly and responsive, and gave us a really easy check in. They also provide an airport transfer service. There is also a bus from Dubrovnik to Cavtat, which gives you an affordable way to travel around. Enjoyed our stay!
