How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe apartment is beautiful, spacious, well decorated, very clean, the bed is very comfortable. The location is perfect, central and near many restaurants and Diocletian palace. We had no problem finding the property, just use google maps and you’ll get to Jupiter luxury Hotel, the apartment is across the hotel just look up for the balcony.
Noise from the next door apartment. The property doesn’t provide luggage storage before or after checkout. Nearby, just next to the port, you can find many shops that can store your luggage for a fee. I payed 8eu for one suitcase. There are cheaper options available at the bus station. Lack of communication with the owner regarding check out process. When checking out just leave the keys inside, the door shuts automatically, but first before leaving the apartment make sure that the front door of the building is open and the door from the yard, so you don’t lock yourself inside.

Verified reviewLocation is smack in Old Town in an ancient building which is part of Diocletian's Palace. Clean and spacious apartment with cute small balcony. Practical info : There is paid parking called Parking Split 24/7 Euro 1.5/hr, about 5 mins walk from Old Town, otherwise street parking for free if you can find space. We would have given 9/10 rating if not because of the incidence below. Our host who checked us in Hristina is lovely and kind and very helpful. We only stayed for one night.
Communication with the management. Inaccurate info about the parking - because this is in old town, no parking available but the info said there is parking. Policy regarding paid late check-in 10Er/hr, paid luggage storage. We had unpleasant interaction with the manager upon checked-out. We left the keys inside apartment as instructed, forgetting that there was another locked door to exit the building. And we could not get back inside apartment because the door automatically locked. So we were trapped inside the stairs alleyway -photo. It took some time before we could contact our host to inform her and to get help. She apparently had problem communicating with the manager, and we were unable to contact her after that for almost 1 hour (and no update). Around 40 mins we found the manager no and contacted him. He apparently was not aware that we were trapped. His first response was yes that happened very common. After about 15 mins the help arrived and we were let out. We were stuck almost an hour. But what surprised us was the message we received from the manager a few hours later - it was completely unwarranted, bizarre and uncalled for, especially when we did not even contact him after leaving. He said it was completely our fault (ok no big deal), that we were rude to him (not true - the reception was poor and we could not hear him and we did raise our voice), that we tried to get free stay (pure fabrication! as we already paid upon check-in), that we asked extension beyond 10:30 (fabrication! - we asked for 30 mins late check-out from 10am to 10:30 am, initially denied but finally given around 10am when we were about to leave, so it was unnecessary). He claimed to contact booking.com who advised him to contact the police about us. And if we write bad review, he will sue us in the UK (my residence info as per passport). This left a bad taste to our experience as his messages were completely unnecessary.
OMG You locked yourself inside the property and you were screaming on staff stating that this is our fault for not explaining that the doors can be locked, after three days having zero problems with the house and the property. And now you intentionally are bringing bad image to our business and our customer care, even you problem you had was resolved in 12 minutes. I'm sure new potential guests will look at all of our other flawless reviews and it will be very clear what happened. I'm personally just sorry that Booking.com alows clearly bitter people leaving reviws...

Verified reviewPerfect location for the old town. Beautiful apartment. Spotlessly clean. Lovey host (Nina!). Just a shame we only had the 1 night and had to leave so early to catch a flight home.
All perfect for a couple.

Verified reviewPerfect location right in the centre of the Diocletian Palace. Good value for money and very responsive service from Nina.
Minor point - The area is a bit of a maze, and GPS doesn't work well within the palace area, so finding the apartment was a bit of a struggle. A detailed map of how to reach the property would be helpful

Verified reviewVery well presented, clean, comfortable. Hidden away within the palace walls, felt like a secret space.
Bit difficult to find as it’s hidden away, but that’s part of the charm! We arrived early so were charged an early check in fee.

Verified reviewGorgeous apartment full of charm, beautifully appointed and spotless. Very roomy with large bathroom and separate kitchen. Right in the heart of Old Town Split cannot fault location for proximity to best part of Split.
It is challenging to find first offas taxi cannot enter Old Town so requires wandering the streets to get close. Googlemdos got us pretty close. Some detailed instructions from Riva would be helpful (and avoiding stairs through tunnel). Stairs up are narrow but to be expected.

Verified reviewSuper clean, cute nice vibes in the apartment. Looks like the pictures. Staff was kind & responsive. Shower was great & bed was comfy.
If you have heavy luggage there is no car access to the unit so dragging it there through the old town and up the stairs is stressful. If you have a car rental also logistically complicated & expensive…it was also hard to find the unit upon arrival.

Verified reviewBeautiful, spacious apartment. Bed was very comfortable. Lots of extra towels. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped.
The check in process is horrible. The property has no sign, which makes it very difficult to find. Locals tried to help but have never heard of the rental, probably because there is no sign. Walking in circles is especially frustrating while carrying luggage in the heat. This could easily be improved by putting up a sign or informing people what to expect up front and providing simple directions or a photo of the gate/door. Instead, we had to message the hosts on WhatsApp, sending photos to make sure we are in the right place. Then we waited for someone to let us in and take payment. She had to rush off to another property where guests were waiting and freaking out because they had been waiting for so long. Very unprofessional.

Verified reviewLocation is excellent. AC works great. Plenty of space for a couple. Not too many stairs.
No parking nearby. Street parking only and then find your way to unit. Communication poor for checking into unit. Staff showed up unannounced during our stay and with an attitude.

Verified reviewVery stylish and comfortable apartment! I can’t agree with the comments that an apartment was hard to find. We found it very easily using maps. what I enjoyed the most was a balcony. in the centre it is very unusual to find an apartment with a balcony so it was a big deal for us. apartment is very safe.
the only thing that I would correct is a bit more shelves in the bathroom to keep the things more comfortable
Thank you so much!! Love to have you back.

Verified reviewClean, new, well appointed, very spacious, extremely well located. Communication was great, the apartment manager met us to let us in and was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was quite beautiful and spacious. Felt well designed and new. The balcony doesn't have a great view, but it does face out into open space, gives great light, and was still nice to sit on and have some wine. A nice bonus feature. The advice on parking was very helpful, though we didn't find anything free, it gave me leads on where to at least get reasonable paid parking.
Parking is tough in Split if that's an issue for you. I guess the place is a bit hard to find, but it's in Diocletian's palace, where everything is a maze anyway.
Thank you Kirk so much Would love to have you back!
