Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Staying in the middle of a historic village in accommodation full of character and atmosphere. This is quirky accommodation with self contained rooms located above a hotel bar. Compact kitchen area with basic facilites for preparing breakfast, but not suitable for preparing main meals. Bedroom is upstairs in the roof space/loft area. The bathroom is compact but adequate. Well used facilities in a historic building so dont expect new and modern facilities. This is an amazing opportunity to stay in the centre of a historic village. Staff were so welcoming and generous with their hospitality and definitely added to our experience. Classical guitarist playing in the restaurant all added to the ambience. Lovely meals, great service and good wine. Be aware that you need to be able to walk to the hotel from nearby parking - around 10mins away.

Ambience , vibe, the welcoming caring helpful warm hosts ,the quirkiness , the history, the stone stories , the food and wine, the lively chatter singing and laughter, the MUSIC 🎶, their heart and soul, the location within the village-it was exactly what I needed and was looking for. I stayed 2 weeks on my personal journey but still did not want to leave.

The host was very friendly and helpful, the apartment was clean and in a very quiet neighborhood. The music (jazz) was soothing and calm, and ended at the right time.

CroatiaKamene Price is a magical, special oasis hidden within the beautiful town of Bale. We were overjoyed with our visit and didn't want to leave in the end! The location is right in the middle of town, perfect for sightseeing, and also one of the best restaurants in town. They boast an impressive menu for lunch and dinner, including local specialties. We had the recommended catch of the day, red porgy, a delicious and beautifully presented dish along with their house white wine. The property is truly an eclectic art-house masterpiece. Each space is decorated with art, small ornamental and often jazz-related items. There are multiple levels throughout with an enchanting central garden for dining. Ivy and other local plants create a natural canopy to protect guests from the scorching Istrian sun. This paired with light jazz that plays throughout the day makes it so you never want to leave. Guests may also sit outside for drinks, coffee and gaze upon the old city streets. The outside area is also decorated with mismatched seating and makeshift benches from the stone city landscape. It is an immensely enjoyable experience to sit in the shade and watch people walk by. During the summer Kamene Price also hosts multiple music events in the main town square, such as their Last Minute Jazz Festival, and various jazz jam sessions within their idyllic garden space. We attended one of these during the weekend and enjoyed ourselves greatly. Our apartment was beautiful, incredibly clean, and equipped with a kitchenette and everything we needed to cook small meals for ourselves. Each apartment has a small table outside where guests can sit, enjoy the scenery. In addition to the amazing atmosphere created at Kamene Price, the staff is equally welcoming, attentive and truly caring. We felt at home and very well taken care of. The owner, Tomislav, greets guests upon arrival and sees that they have everything they need. We highly recommend this truly special place!

SloveniaOutstanding apartment in the heart of little historical city. We had lunch in an intimate yard just downstairs of our apartment. The whole area is pure zen, relaxed scene and very friendly staff (thanks for the welcome pancakes and drink 😉), you can find nice decorations everywhere. I'll be back soon 🍷

Bale is a special place. Deck overlooking the restaurant garden is lovey. Listen to the piano after a walk through town. Don't miss the local bakery. Best croissants!

United StatesIt did get warm at night while sleeping but they provided a fan which suited us well. If you’re very sensitive to the heat, the fact there is no air conditioning is something to consider. However if you love opening the windows, allowing fresh air to come in & don’t mind a traditional fan plugged into the wall, it’s a great ambience. They warned us of mosquitoes but we didn’t have an issue.. only when we ate outside at night one time.
We travelled to Bale for my brother’s wedding at another location within walking distance. I’m so happy we chose Kamene Priče Jazz Apartments to stay. It was a great atmosphere! I’d like to return for a writing trip, just because I found staying here with the sound of the piano & fresh breeze, light ambience of visitors to the restaurant downstairs so inspiring & romantic. The food was delicious as well!

SloveniaOh, we missed breakfast - pretty sure it would be fabulous. But yes, it's all explained, but we didn't read :). These are apartments with kitchens an all you need to be provided to make all meals. On a Sunday morning, we went around and got coffee and fresh things from the bakery with ease.
The feeling of being there - like at home. It feels like visiting an old friend. Loved the feeling and passion for art and music, there are artworks everywhere, books, and musical instruments. There are guests at the bar, everyone knows everyone, and everybody is friendly. We were asked about dinner and got it in a flesh, custom made, local ... and while eating, we chatted with the chef/owner. How great is that, where do you experience this?

BelgiumSome suggestions for improvement: 1. The apartment we got was not quite the one we booked (according to the description), but it was larger (no complaints here), however without air-conditioning. Staff should make clear on arrival when another apartment is offered and give guests the option to accept the change (or not). 2. The place is hard to find (Google Maps lacks precision): the site on Booking.com should offer a detailed map of the area with straightforward indications on how to reach the address; it would be useful to mention the arched gateway to the right of the castle... 3. Since the property is inside the pedestrian part of the village, clear indications should be provided about the closest access point by car to decrease the amount of work needed to transport one's luggage over pavements probably dating from the Romans but hell for luggage wheels (as one of our Samsonites proved). 4. If the only ventilation is of the natural kind (all windows open), mosquito netting is a must ! 5. It would be honest to warn guests that lodgings are located above a (very nice) restaurant/bar, which entails a significant amount of noise, at least until approximately 22h30: there are tables with diners both in the garden and in the street... 6. Too bad that the bar opens in the morning only around 11: a professionnally made cup of coffee would be welcome for breakfast !
Great location, very pleasant furnishings (not impersonal or merely functional as quite often), nice staff. Bale itself is worth the trip.

GermanyWe (me and my husband) had a reservation, a confirmation and made a prepayment for a room for two nights in “Kamene Price Rooms” in Bale, Croatia. All that was conducted through one the big hotel reservation platforms. Upon our arrival we were told, that unfortunately other guests had a car breakdown and needed to stay on and therefore there was no room for us anymore and we had to move to another place. Said and done – our luggage was put into a car, as well as we, and we were driven to a very low budget place, by no means comparable to the booked location. Later that evening we went back to Kamene Price Rooms to express, that we were rather unhappy with the situation and doubt the story about the car break down, assuming it was a simple case of overbooking. The owner got really aggressive, started shouting at us and said, that we should be happy, that he organized us some place to sleep and yelled at us, that he could give the money back, if that’s what we wanted. We accepted that and left. Having read some of the other replicas to comments I’m sure, that the outcome of this story is purely our fault, as we dared to reserve a room in the peak season and we were so ungrateful, not to accept the alternative. If it is so difficult to be friendly and supportive to customers and keep contracts, may be the owner is in the wrong business.
