How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortable, the room had air conditioning and a small refrigerator, the windows also opened for fresh air. Linen, 1 towel, shower gel for free. The wardrobe is large enough with a key. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is always enough food. Large refrigerator. Amazing caring staff! For my birthday I received a dessert with candles and great company! There were always delicious sweet treats and cherry liqueur. To the Old Town walk 15 minutes or 2 stops by bus. To the bech 15 min by foot. Near is a big supermarket. Close to the bus stop from / to the airport. I recommend this great place!

Nothing.

Verified reviewRelaxed atmosphere. Easy going staff who are ready to help out and communicate well. Great location. Clean.
Showers need renovation, although it is visible they are being cleaned regularly. There are no keys/locks on the doors, only on personal lockers - I guess the hostel ensures safety by having staff be present 24/7 and video surveillance, but it made me worry. There is no built-in A/C, only a machine - which is loud during the night. Half of the appliances in the kitchen are out of order, I did not use them as I was eating all meals outside, but if you want to cook, beware.

Verified reviewLocation is fairly central. 30 min walk from the bus station, 20 minute walk to Old Town but there's a bus stop right at the front door if you want to take the bus to either place. Bed comfortable, portable air-conditioning but it's loud so bring earplugs. Good size kitchen. Free tea & coffee. Supermarket just around the corner. Lockers provided, power outlets at bedside. Small fridge in room for your drinks.
Shower room which is mixed has no doors only shower curtains, no hooks to hang clothes, broken shower hose and no holder to hang the shower head on the wall. Also needs a real good clean with the mould build up. Dishwasher & oven are both broken in the kitchen. Hostel does face a busy road that is quite noisy with people yelling & car horns, so bring your earplugs. As other reviews the front door isn't locked so if security is a thing for you, you may want to consider this. No bed side lamp.

Verified reviewThe hosts Toni, Antonio and Arijan are kind and helpful people. They make this stay, with their friendliness and joy for life and recommendations for the area, plus going beyond to help other hostel members out during my stay. The location is also incredible, easy access to buses right outside. Easy walk into old town, Lapad and surrounding beaches.
The shower room was different however not an issue at all and kept clean.

Verified reviewThe location is just perfect. In front of the hostel is a bus stop to the main bus station, and walking to the old town is just 18 min away. Bus stop to the old town is also 2 min from the hostel. The owner are just angel! Super nice, I feel like having a new relatives in Dubrovnik. Hvala Toni & Antonio & Arijan.

Verified reviewI really liked the location, you can get to the centre in 15 minutes walking down a lovely street full of beautiful buildings and with views of the sea. The hostel has everything you need. Easy check-in and checkout, good showers, tranquility, lockers. The receptionist makes sure you are comfortable.
Everything was ok and as showed in the website.

Verified reviewGood location. Easy check in. Good communication with staff over WhatsApp. Large size storage lockers. Room was clean.
In the showers there is literally no where to put a towel/clothing etc. I don’t have an issue with them being unisex showers but there needs to be at least some place that you can hang your items close to the shower so that it’s easy to get changed in the cublicle. Air conditioning unit was very loud. Hotel is located next to a main road so there is a lot of road noise. There are no keys to the property, so presumably anyone can just walk in off the street and into the rooms. Items are secure inside lockable lockers but i don’t like that anyone can just walk into the bedrooms, regardless of if they are staying at the hostel or not - doesn’t feel very safe.

Verified reviewThe location, 20min walk from the old town
Very dirty. The property is a hostel with common areas and rooms. Our room smelled of tobacco, was dirty and the bed sheets had other people’s hair on them...The common areas were dirty as well. An unpleasant experience.

Verified reviewHost was really nice
None of the doors have any locks - including the front door. So people can roam freely in and out of the hostel without staying there which was a big safety concern for me.
